Thread: Echoes of the Last War

Game Description

The War raged for a century, pitting the Five Nations of Gallifar against one another in a conflict that seemed as if it would tear all of Khorvaire asunder. In the end they called it by a name they hoped would prove true, for how could Khorvaire ever fight again? They called it the Last War. For many of those that served though, the War stilled burns bright and fresh in their minds... men and women that lost families, friends even their entire homeland. Others fought for different reasons, mercenaries that fought as Blademarks for the Chimera, scimitar-wielding elves from far-off Valenar or cunning Dar under a charismatic warlord. All of these and so many more fought and died or fought and survived... and now from the ashes of a conflict that made so many feel as if they'd never anything other that War, there is a peace. For these war-touched souls, though, this strange quiet does not feel right, does not feel normal and many fear it never will!

[Game Explanation]
Because my other Eberron game is going so amazing I've decided to run another. I will run it fairly traditionally to start with, running the adventure in the Campaign Guide then Seekers of the Ashen Crown. If we make it through that I'll start into my conversions of the original Eberron adventure arc... starting with a beefed up and 4e-ified Forgotten Forge. More important than all that though I want to focus on the aftermath of the War from a character's perspective. I want Cyran refugee, Brelish scouts that saw too much, grizzled Karrnathi soldiers or devout Thrane knights whose zeal isn't valued as it once was.

This game will begin with a flashback encounter that takes place during the Last War itself, then will jump forward to the present day in Sharn in 998. Your character must have served during the War and at most only two nationalities (who were allies at the time) will be allowed within the party. Now this doesn't limit class or race or anything else when it comes to your character concept as all races, all classes and all religions served during the War. You could even be a member of a Dragonmarked House... just make it fit and remember that excoriates served in all conceivable ways but you will have to roleplay that later on.

Character creation will be done using any of the stat arrays in the PHB or the standard 22-pt buy as described therein.

[Books Allowed]

All WotC published 4e materials including DDI (Dragon/Dungeon) and FR (excepting of course FR-specific backgrounds).

[Other Notes]
You can submit a sheet but its not necessary as my choices will be made based on your concept and the writing ability you display in your application. That's it... if you have any questions please post them! Good luck and good gaming!
