Kings of the Wasteland
It is the year 2012, 2013 or even 2014; no one cares enough to keep a precise counting any more. The Cataclysm happened around 2012; the wrath of God descending on the sinners, to some, the end of the world as was told by the Mayan prophecies, to others, or simply mankind finally destroying itself. Well, no matter the cause, the Cataclysm came... and went. Many were killed, or infected, or suffered horrible mutations, of course... but not all. Some survived. Some were quick enough to mount a resistance against the first onslaught, and to organize themselves afterwards.... for survival. But even if there were quite a few that managed to survive the first few days, half of those still were dead by the end of the first month, fallen either to internal dispute, or to the dangers that they had kept at bay in the first few days, or even fallen prey to other groups of survivors, stronger and wishing for no competition.
Having to struggle against the harshness of an apocalyptic environment, fending off hordes of zombie-like creatures and mutant lifeforms, staying clear of radioactive waste and perilous new diseases, finding new resources and safe-houses on a daily basis, having to protect those resources and safe-houses against other hungry survivors....
