Dragon Age - Blood in Ferelden
A simple game using the Dragon Age RPG system set 1, the game should take players from level one to level five and allow them to explore all aspects of the system within the level range.
Sothmere, a village located within the Hinterlands just north of the Korcari Wilds. The people of Sothmere have a hard life, though it is a life. Their ground is less fertile when compared to other parts of Ferelden, their growing season is short, and their craftsmen are few in number. In addition, Sothmere’s proximity to the Korcari Wilds makes it a dangerous place to live. There are certainly easier lands to till, even for hardy South Fereldens. So why is there a lively village here? Bread, simple, they grow rare and expensive bread here. Being one of the few areas that is able to harvest fields of ryott it makes it a good place to work.
Sothmere has recently been affected by the planned con¬struction of a stone fort to replace the wooden Fort Soth¬mere. Recently, Arl Voychek Neruda has been receiving reports that Chasind stalker raids have been increas¬ing. Realizing that surrendering the ryott fields to the Chasind would deprive him of a valuable resource, the arl has decided to improve this military outpost. New buildings are now being constructed to house the labor¬ers that will be needed to complete this task, and within a few months the quiet village will likely be a thriving town.
This has given the villagers of Sothmere cause for cel¬ebration and they are now hosting a Groundbreaking Festival. Visitors and entertainers have come from all over the region and pitched tents that now line the out¬skirts of the village. The festival has been planned as a three-day event that coincides with the start of the planting season. Each day will be filled with entertain¬ments and feasts, with the actual groundbreaking cer¬emony scheduled to take place on the final day.
So here you are, within Sothmere, perhaps you are a local or the village, or just a traveller that heard of the festival. Whatever the reason, you have decided to stay within the village during the festival and relax for a bit. But like all things in life, things do not stay calm for long.
