It is the year 0079 of the Universal Century. A half-century has passed since Earth began moving its burgeoning population into gigantic orbiting space colonies. A new home for mankind, where people are born and raised...and die.

Nine months ago, the cluster of colonies farthest from the Earth, called Side 3, declared itself the Principality of Zeon and launched a war of independence against the Earth Federation. Initial fighting lasted over one month, and saw both sides lose half of their respective populations. People are horrified at the indescribable atrocities that have been committed in the name of independence.

Eight months have passed since the rebellion began. They are at a stalemate.

Mobile Suit Gundam - Another One Year War is an alternative retelling of the events of the 1979 animated television series Mobile Suit Gundam. Players take the role of heroic (or not-so-heroic) pilots of the Earth Federation's prototype GM Ground-Type Mobile Suits as they try to break the stranglehold of the fascist, technologically advanced Principality of Zeon on the Earth Sphere, while all across the world the situation grows more desperate...especially without the key to the original story, the Mobile Suit called "Gundam", any longer at the Federation's disposal.
