The Hunters of Shadows
Welcome to New York City, a city of lights, culture, and people. NYC is one of the largest and most diverse places in the world, home to more than 22 million people. Cultures collide here, music thrives here, and businesses grow here. This place has history and is making more every day. This is one of humanity's greatest hubs. But, there is a flipside.
New York City is also the City of Monsters. Beneath the sheen of life is a terrible darkness that always waiting to boil forth. Monsters of every degree and creed lurk in the shadows ready to pounce. Vampires of every flavor hunt the streets, ghouls raid the cemeteries, and wicked Fae lure the unwary to their deaths. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
But, where there are monsters there will be monster hunters. Humanity's champions stand strongly against the darkness, despite being out-numbered and out-powered. The White Council, weakened by the Vampire War and now the hardships unleashed in its conclusion's aftermath, struggles to maintain any sort of foothold. But, in their place another power has step forward to hold back the darkness: the Venatori Umbrorum.
The Hunters of Shadows have been leading a war against the monsters, fighting them from behind the scenes. Leaders are exposed, framed, or assassinated. Resources are stolen, destroyed, or lost. Victims are saved, healed, and protected. But, the monsters are starting to set aside old differences to turn their full focus on these annoying saboteurs, preparing to wipe them out once and for all. The Venatori are calling in all of their allies and every favor owed. Who will answer the call?
