A lab accident, a badly botched spell, perhaps exploring a cave that wasn't there before, or you were at sea during a storm. Suddenly everything was chaos. It felt like it might have been the beginning of twilight, then you awakened... elsewhere.
Within a couple of days you were rescued by a small group of men, and brought to what you recognized as a covenant, the entire structure is made of wood and was clearly built by magic. There appear to be other refugees, but there is a system for sorting them, and you are soon brought to what apparently passes for relative luxury around here. Soon another magus stands before you.
"Welcome to Nova Terra. You have been identified as gifted, and we presume you either have heard of or are members of the Order of Hermes. This is the covenant of Gardenarius, named for it's founder, Gardenarius Ex Jerbiton. There are two other known covenants in this land, anyone who is not willing to abide by the rules of this covenant is welcome to leave and seek them out or try and establish a new one. For those wanting to stay, you are considered guests. Guests pay a fee for the hospitality. There are a number of ways this can be paid, our library needs expanding, or if you have particular gifts that are useful those can also be applied. Those who wish to apply to become members of the covenant will be put on a list and given the opportunity to prove yourselves for membership. Are there any questions?"
Characters may come from anywhere in mythic Europe, and not have a magical might score (no faerie, magical beings, etc.)
