Game Description

The AdventureThe Swordlords of Restov have sent a number of settlement groups south and west into the Stolen Lands in order to pacify the region, open lost or blocked trade routes, and deal with the bandits and inhuman dangers of the region.

One such group, lead by the disgraced Swordlord Maegnar Varn left two years ago, and founded a wilderness settlement deep in the Noman Heights. After a months of shipments of furs, oddities, and gold panned from the nearby Siverstep Lake; there has been no word since last Autumn. Six months without word, and now the primitive tribes of Noman centaurs that have been a thorn in the side of the sword obsessed city have become even more violent and erratic than ever.

The Lord-Mayor of Restov has sought experienced adventures to head southwest into the wilderness and to determine the fate of the Varnlings, to set things right, and if all else fails to continue the Maegnar's mission to pacify the Eastern Stolen Lands.

The GameThis Campaign is for 3 to 5 players. We will be playing through a version of Kingmaker, Paizo's Adventure Path, using the Ars Magica 5th Edition Ruleset, and starting with events in The Varnhold Vanishing (Kingmaker Episode 3).

Characters are generated using modified Ars Magica 5th Edition Rules (See Rules changes in Character Creation Thread on the Forum), with the goal of making a D20-esque adventure party to explore the wilderness.

Players who have played Kingmaker Episodes 1 and/or 2 (The Stolen Lands and Rivers Run Red, respectively) should have no problem here. Those who have played though Episode 3 may not have as good a time as you will know most of the twists, though I will be adding a few more and shading the whole thing a bit darker.

Players are welcome and encouraged to make D&D-type characters of all class-types. The game flavor will be back to AD&D golden era type play. "The world is dangerous, there are horrors just around the corner, and you might die at any second." Compare that with modern Pathfinder, which is more focused on the PCs being heroes and overcoming every obstacle.
