Game Description

The Great Waste

The Great Waste to the west of the Republic and Glantri has long been the home of nomad raiders. Petty little tribes, both human and otherwise, have roamed this trackless waste for ages, raiding each other and the surrounding settlements. The local lords have easily controlled this banditry. Though of late the nomads have become more aggressive. The trade route that connects the Republic and Glantri to mysterious lands in the West has been suffering from frequent raids. Rumors abound of high prices paid for caravan guards and escorts or for the more adventurous bounties paid for the destruction of nomad tribes. The opportunities for gold and glory draw treasure seekers onto the edge of the Great Waste.

The Rules

This game uses the 1981 Basic and Expert sets (B/X) which are available at D&D Classics for $5 each. There are other rules (1983 BE sets, Labyrinth Lord, Rules Cyclopedia) that are close enough to get you going but you need to let me know if you are using them so we can talk about the differences.
