Aegon Targaryen V - Known as Aegon the Unlikely, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm sits the Iron Throne. By some accounts he should never have been King, the fourthborn son of a fourthborn son, but by all accounts he is a good king. His heir, Prince Duncan Targaryen, is already a young Knight, and a warrior proven on the field during the Fourth Blackfyre Rebellion.Two years ago, The Crown announced Prince Duncan's betrothal to Lady Rebecca Baratheon, daughter of Lord Lyonel Baratheon - The Lord of Storm's End, and a dear and old friend to King Aegon.
In celebration of Lady Rebecca's nameday, and to honor his future daughter-in-law, King Aegon has called for a Grand Tourney at King's Landing in her name. Knights and Lords from all across the Seven Kingdoms have made the Journey. The year is 239 AC.
Meanwhile, though the Summer sun was high on the world, it is always cold in The North, and for the men of the Night's Watch, their vigil is never at an end. Among its brothers The Watch counts Knights and Lords, Thieves and Beggars, Murderers and worse. New recruits have just arrived, and soon their watch will begin.
