Game Description
The World of Arcadia
Millennia ago, before the written word, there was a great cataclysm that shattered the world. As the continental fragments drifted through the void, hope came in the form of ancient magic now lost to antiquity. Magical laylines were created, spewing forth from each of the greater continents, causing an unbreakable connection between the floating lands that halted their movement in its entirety. The laylines also draw water from the surrounding void, channeling it to each of the continents, allowing life to continue to thrive. The ancient magic also allowed smaller landmasses to be caught in the immovable continents’ gravity, causing them to take orbit.
As time went on a way to travel between the landmasses soon became possible, reuniting the races for war and peace. Soon after much of the fragmented world had been explored, thanks to the increasing technologies and the Last Treaty, which united several major continental kingdoms into The United Kingdoms. Only one major land mass remains unexplored. It lies beyond the thick black miasma known as the Vadoum, and for as long as explorers could explore by way of the layline, they have followed it into the Vadoum never to return…
…until last year when The Grand Cruiser Seravee, returned to its port in Gilstair after its three-year voyage into the Vadoum—carrying a single survivor.
An excerpt from a flyer hung by United Kingdoms officials:
