The City of Eyes

Berlin-Brandenburg has long been a domain on the front lines, for Kindred and kine alike. The Damned didn't simply sit the Cold War out; indeed, their survival depended on active participation. The Margrave Heinrich III seized power in the last days of WWII, and not even the fall of the Berlin Wall has been enough to shake his grip. Things looked like they might have finally settled down in Germany's capital. Until Kindred started vanishing and dying at an alarming rate. The first decade of the new century was one defined by fear for the city's Kindred, as no survivors turned up to identify the bogeyman hunting the hunters. The crisis reached a fever pitch in 2009, when the Invictus Elector vanished from her own haven. The Margrave responded with increased security measures, appointing a pet covenant known as the Watchful Eyes to track down the menace. They lasted a year before a fire in their headquarters wiped out most of their number. So the Margrave has turned to the desperate measure of luring hunters into the city in the hopes that they will root out the killer, named Abaddon by its potential victims. The city has assumed a strange new normal since, with a high rate of Embrace alongside a high rate of Final Death from Abaddon and the hunters.
It is into this period of paranoia and fear that we enter into the Requiem of one Friedrich Richter, ancilla of the Circle of the Crone. He's had his fair share of suffering in life and the earthly hereafter. But can he keep the delicate balance of his Requiem intact in this unbalanced time? Will he crack under the strain, as many have? Or will he simply vanish into the unknown night?
