In More Wars Than One
It began when the Æl vessel appeared in Plutonian space. No communication was recieved, nor was one answered. An attempted scan of the ship revealed no sign of power or life. A Plutonian ship was dispatched to examine the supposed derelict. Closing with the vessel, a barrage of laser fire blasted the Plutonian ship from existence. The Sol collective's response was swift. Boarding was achieved only after a bitter firefight against the vessel's superior weaponry. Once inside, Sol marines from each of its planets faced off against theirs. Ours proved to be better, and the alien vessel was ours. The psychic elite of Luna interrogated the Æl POWs, working closely with the scholar-scientists of Mother Terra to learn all we could from the aliens before their execution. The Sol collective came to the only possible conclusion, a return of this aggression to the Æl homeworld. Using the technology stripped, reverse engineered, and refitted to the ships currently in service, 3 years later we left Sol for Æl.
