No one knew what happened. Had Death been overthrown? Was Life the victor?
These might be odd questions to ask, if it wasn’t for the fact that no one was dying anymore. No one could die anymore. The Life-Touched had doubled in number, and few Death-Touched had been seen since the Day No One Died. The Powers had grown stronger and were about more, visiting their temples, smiting their enemies and having their followers smote in return. The land was in turmoil, but no one seemed to mind. After all, what was war when you could take an arrow through the heart and still do your daily washing?
This continued for years and years, until the appearance of Shey, the Black Sheep. She was the first openly Death-Touched in a decade since the Day. She brought panic and mayhem to the world of Acea, spreading from Odai’acea to all the other islands. She began preaching heresies against the Powers. She was allied with savage wild magi and turncoat Touched. Those who did not wish to see the rise of another Servant Death and the end to the Age of Immortals, aided by the Powers as well as Servants, fought back against her before the shackled Servant Oblivion was forced to dispose of her.
Shey disappeared 40 years ago; the Day No One Died began 50 years ago. Even through endless war, people seem to be enjoying their eternal life. However…everything is about to change.
Someone is rebuilding the old Death temples, and ravaging the temples of many of the other Servants and Powers. Rumors and whispers speak of more Death-touched appearing, and the increase of disappearances and un-waking comas. The world isn’t safe anymore, not even for an immortal mortal.
