Game Description

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only war.

The Segmentum Obscurus. Cut off from the rest of the Imperium by the dreadful Eye of Terror, this area of the galaxy is under the constant threat of the alien and the damned. But its far edges, as opposite to the baleful Eye as can be travelled, have been ripe with worlds ancient and unknown near the Halo of Stars.

The Luris cluster, a small group of new planets, was discovered some two hundred years prior by the Adeptus Mechanicus Explorators, knowledge-seekers of the Cult of the Omnissiah. This cluster has since been an important resource to the Imperium, both for its resources, as a launching point of new exploration missions into undiscovered reaches of space, and for its crown jewel – Luris II, a world with beauty unimaginable. In the war-torn Imperium, a planet of such perfect complexion is quickly noticed, and quickly protected, for it is a symbol of the Emperor's undying protection, that such a world can exist unmolested for so long. This Paradise world, however, now comes under a grave threat. No one can sleep peacefully for long in the Imperium Of Man – except, perhaps, in the sleep of death.

From out of the warp, the hulking, disgraceful ships of the Orkz marred space with their presence. The Orkz' flagship crashed into the surface of Luris II's moon, Ilmis, where the Adeptus Mechanicus kept a substantial amount of exploratory records, priceless technology and other relics. The Ork Warboss, Hardskull Da Kunnin', having dealt with the Mechanicus before, knew of their presence immediately. Gleeful at the prospect of plunder and "kustom gear", the Warboss loosed his greenskin horde. The Emperor's Justice came swift, however, and the Imperial Navy and Imperial Guard have launched a mission to relieve the entrenched techpriests on Ilmis, eradicate the greenskin horde, and furthermore, to secure Luris II – for if the orkz are allowed to take root upon it, this pearl would be quickly lost to war and slaughter as many such planets have already been lost.

As Hardskull plumbs the depths of Ilmis, and the guard are embattled on the surface, there is only one hope to destroy him in time – the Emperor's own Space Marines, sent by the Ordo Xenos, the Deathwatch, to aid in securing the world from all threats alien, and establish an outpost so that the vulnerable Luris cluster can be protected from the greedy and lusting beasts of the warp.
