Conspiracy X 2.0: Who is Protecting Earth?

AEGIS says they are protecting Earth from "Aliens", Extraterrestrials. Are they? And have they always?

SHIELD and its ancestor organization, the SSR, say they protect Earth from threats the public wasn't ready to know about (and also maintains world peace), and continue to do so. Do they? What secrets is SHIELD hiding that are so terrible?

The perennial conspiracy phantom, the "Black Book" (better known to AEGIS and SHIELD as the National Defense Directorate, with its MAJESTIC Clearances and massive resources, claims to be the true ultimate defender of the United States of America, but they cut deals with "Aliens"/Extraterrestrials, help them, supposedly for advantages on technology and capabilities.

You all, as a Cell of AEGIS, are aware that the NDD is in over their heads, that something is badly wrong with SHIELD, and that AEGIS Prime has been...different for the last four years.

It's your job to keep the USA safe, fight the NDD, and uncover SHIELD's dark secret.

The Party will be a cell of AEGIS Operatives, well-supported, and of moderate rank in AEGIS.

This a world that draws from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, up to Avengers: End Game, starting in 2012 before the Battle of New York City forces SHIELD Director Nick Fury to fully reveal the Avengers to the public.

The Party can expect interaction with both Black Book (their traditional conspiracy opposite number) and SHIELD.

A book is not required, I have posted modified Character Creation Rules in the forum.
