Arkelon Chronicles

GM SerialExperimentBain · 1 player

Arkelon Chronicles is a tactical/action TTRPG, using polyhedral dice sets, with the twenty-sided dice as the main one used to resolve conflicts. Almost every roll of chance, strategy, and choice is made with two twenty-sided dice – one rolled by the player and the other by the game master. This allows each participant to show their mettle, whether they are an attacker or a defender.

SETTING OVERVIEW

Arkelon is the 4th planet in a large 9 planets solar system. It is inhabited by myriads of different life forms, from the well-known Humans, Elves, and Dwarves to the more exotic  Shardlings, Shiaris, and Dragonkins.

After the discovery of a large underground alien city, technologies leapt hundreds of years into the future, making it possible
for those lineages to rapidly evolve, and even start to conquer space and other planets.

While this world is now technologically advanced, it is not without danger. Large monsters, cults, assassins, and corrupt governments are still a thing in current times, but so are heroes who are there to save the day! However, in a world where technologies and media are prevalent, how heroes deal with those situations might not always be seen in a positive light.

Monsters and creatures are easy to deal with, since you can just kill them and reap the rewards. But, when the enemy is
another humanoid, laws might sometimes make it harder to deal with them, since killing them can be seen as a crime. It
is up to the heroes to find creative ways to deal with those situations, either by making friends, or becoming powerful antiheroes.
Despite the sudden progress and expansion of Arkelon, large  parts of the world remain unexplored or poorly explored due
to the large scale of the planet. Large creatures and monsters often hide in those remote corners, but, sometimes, they do
come out of their hiding and clash with civilizations, usually with devastating effects (and billions in damages).
