This is a prophecy from the Oracle herself. Rarely are her prophecies so direct and unobtuse. When the Annual Divinium came and this was the only prophecy to be handed down from the Oraculum it was a bit disappointing. Normally they are in prose with hidden layers and double meanings. Something that scholars and laymen alike can chew on and turn over until they are revealed in their glorious truth. But a long hard winter, while serious, does not set the kingdom a twitter. It might be a banal year.
Become one of the Dragonforged.
You are one of the Dragonforged, Half-Dragon champions of bravery, honor, and sacrifice. Through the power of the Dragonforge, you have been bonded with the essence of a dragon egg, transformed into something greater than mortal, yet not quite a true dragon.
Gifted with an ageless life, revered by the people, and richly rewarded for your service, you stand as one of the Oraculum's greatest defenders. Though you have served as Dragonforged for only a year, you lived a life before your transformation. Whatever your past, it has led you to this moment.
Spoilers if you need to know what I have planned
The kingdom will begin at the height of peacetime but will soon be brought low by war and hardship. I will bend genres and elements of science fiction and science fantasy will be blended in this game. As the protagonists, you will be on the back foot and will have to make hard choices. This will not be a game that you can best by rolling initiative, though there will be a lot of combat. I like to tell stories and build compelling characters. I also like putting twists into the game to see how it changes traditional tropes. Be prepared for a big twist. Not an original one, but I steal from good sources.
I do not need a full character sheet for the application process. I just need to know what race/class combo you are planning and the following.
Backstory - Enough to get an idea of who the character starts out as, both before transformation and how they adapted.
Personality - Just a bit to let me know the tone and tenor of your character
Goals - A couple of personal goals that could be achieved during the course of the game
Style - a short bit about your combat style and your social style
