Broken Heart of the Castle

GM MarSyca · 2 players

The Ground Shakes to the terrible might of the walking castle. A war Machine built in a forgotten era, that has been wiped away by the victors and left to roam the Eglantine Continent. For the past 100 years and a half, it has meandered and crossed the lowlands. Terrorizing the small folk of these lands with the aimlessness of a broken-hearted teen. Content to wage a war on turnip fields and rural taverns, carving a wandering path of destruction through the countryside. The Lords of the lowlands had begrudgingly accepted the rampaging castle as a part of life, so long as it stayed out of the cities, they were content to leave it be. As many have attempted to breach the castle walls. But few ever return and even less with their senses intact. According to history records, survivors of the castle become echoes of themselves. Becoming less of their pass self's day by day till they disappear. Many speculate that they end up returning to the castle. Ensnared by its magic. Three weeks ago, however, it had paused. By witnesses accounts it had suddenly made a sharp turn towards the walled city of Bells Fall. Leaving a path of razed villages in its wake. If the castle cannot be stopped or turned, it will reach the city walls in five days.

In the city of bells fall, the player characters are members of the grapnel guild, an organization of skilled explorers that go on challenging climbs for rescue missions and adventure expeditions. The PC's current rank are the copper mallards, the small (as well as problematic) "rookies" of the guild. Their goal is set on becoming the most prestigious rank within the grapnel guild, the golden couture's.

The leader of the guild (Commander Hauberk) has called together the mallards for a harrowing mission, if the PCs are successful in this task, they promise the PC's fame as well as a new set of golden wings, so long as the city is still standing.

Notes:

- The Game setting will start a bit earlier within the day, before the meeting with commander Hauberk. Which will be a mixture of combat and RP.

- The majority (as well as the end of the game) will be in the walking castle, beginning shortly in Bells fall, the in-between village and then castle.

- Players new to the Worlds without Numbers system are welcome to join

- This is a whimsical adventure with tones of a cursed castle. Will have a curse table that will influence the players behaviors and cause death depending on how much levels they have.

- This game is being played on the idunn version instead of Baldur. So please apply over there as that's where I will be keeping an eye on player join and count. As well as put the majority of description and notes on the game.

- this will be on a first come first serve basis

- this is a link to the one on idunn, [Myth-Weavers]
