Dead on Arrival [Ink Ribbon]

GM Sapphic Reiver · 1/3 player · posts Every few days

“The year is 1996. You are taking an overnight bus into the sheltered city of Sparrows Rest. It's something of a company city for Heal-X with most of its faculties and niceties paid for by the pharmaceutical R&D giant. You're about to have the worst night of your life. It may even be your last.”

At this point in time Character generation rules aren't available, so players are building their stat/skill blocks off of archetypes. These archetype can be found in the Characters Forums. If you want to move/adjust skills or items, we can discuss it in your application thread; But for the most part the stats and skills are going to remain the same.

Each pre-made thread has a few suggestions on what kind of approach you can take with the stat+skill block, but ultimately, it's all down to how you want to interpret it.

If you need some musical inspiration:

I've got you covered, but you'll probably still get bit.

I'm trying to avoid really obvious music choices like "In The House In A Heartbeat" Or just the entire Project Zomboid OST.

Why a demo game? And why so few slots?

Ink Ribbon is currently in its crowdfunding stages, and right now they're seeking feedback. It's not all that often PbP players have a say - mostly due to our long play cycles, I find - but I think it'd be nice to not only have some hands-on experience on MW, but also to help get eyes on a real neat little ttrpg system with a lot of niche survival horror inspirations.

That doesn't mean to say that all is lost for your characters or that you're guaranteed to die. If certain events play out and the players don't escape the city in the intended way, I'm more than happy to just... Hack away at the rules we have on-hand and see what we can do to end the game in a satisfying manner. Though it is entirely likely your characters could die.

It is also worth noting I do currently have one person pre-selected who has expressed interest in the Reporter pre-made, though if you are interested in trying the same pre-made please do not let that dissuade you from doing so. There are 2 slots currently being recruited for because the game is intended to be run with 2 - 3 players + a GM.
