Dolmenwood — Runes of the Cold Prince

Dolmenwood is a dark fantasy game of mortals and fey, of dark and twisted woods and fungus-encrusted marshes, of the adventurers who dare to venture out into those places in search of treasure, saintly icons, and deep magic. Built on top of the Old-School Essentials restatement of B/X DnD, players take on the role of adventurers seeking to make their fortune by navigating the setting's intriguing factions and slaying its chaotic monsters.
If you're a fan of Pan's Labyrinth, Johnathon Strange & Mr. Norrel, Over the Garden Wall, The Green Knight, or just like the idea of a DnD game set in a grim-whimsical fairy story, Dolmenwood is a setting that will interest you.
If you want a greater idea of what the setting's like, you can find a free intro PDF here:

I'm looking for 3-5 players who are interested in collaborating on a dynamic story. I don't intend to railroad overly much or rely on adventure material, I'm a fan of improv-heavy styles but strive for fairness and consistency. Players will begin seeking treasure, but might find other motivations along the way, such as joining a faction or serving a patron. Setting knowledge beyond the very basics is not needed, and no experience with OSE or B/X is not necessary. Stick to material on the main Dolmenwood SRD for character creation.
This game will use Treasure for XP, with 1 Gold = to 1 XP divided among the party equally. Other optional rules may be used as they apply during the adventure. Players may roll for a Moon Sign as detailed in the Player's Book on pg. 174.
Take maximum Hit Points for 1st level.
Roll your equipment as described on Step 8.
Players are permitted 1 re-roll of their ability scores and may keep whichever.
You may redistribute 1 high stat into a Prime Ability for your chosen class.
A complete character backstory is not necessary, but a few sentences and some motivation points will go a long way into helping flesh them out in play. Please present the bones of a character sheet along with a basic outline of your concept, availability, and desires for the campaign in your application. Thank you!
Applications open until 8/11.
