Long Ago, people lived only on the Great Below, on the Surface of the Mother. They could not fly, let alone orbit. They had not had their first tryst with the Moon...

 

Then, inevitably, they built cities in the Sky... They built new lands there. Some cities they made from the dead, airless islands in the sea of void. Some cities are great constructed things. Many are cut from the marches with Faerie and set adrift in the firmament. Each of these Archipelagos, these "Networks," has struggled since Mother Earth burned and Daughter Moon nearly found herself again barren. But the people of these Worlds are strong, and, in The Between, new powers are rising particularly fast
