Exploration Adventure
You awaken on cold stone, your head pounding, limbs heavy and unsteady and beyond a dim understanding your don't really even remember your where you came from with any detail. Flickering torchlight reveals rough-hewn stone walls and broken flagstones. Around you, others stir, equally bewildered, and scattered across the floor lie fragments of armor, worn satchels, and tarnished weapons. A heavy, sour smell lingers in the air—old blood, mildew, and something fouler.
Near where you lay, scrawled in jagged chalk on the wall, you see a message:
"Welcome, victims to my labyrinth or trials and torments. Your flesh is my canvas, your pain my art. Live as long as you can the struggle is the glory. Linger here and perish.
— Loviatar"
Even now, you hear the distant scrape of stone, the low growl of something unseen, and the whisper of unseen movements. Whatever is happening, you have little time to ponder it. Survival demands action—and quickly.
This game is mostly a dungeon adventure using the 1st edition of AD&D. After characters are selected they will salvage equipment scattered about the starting room (Random roll starting equipment) and then set out to escape the dungeon. We'll be using Appendix A of the Dungeon Master's Guide to generate the dungeon randomly during play, so neither you nor I know exactly what lies ahead. Your characters will start on the first level of the dungeon, going down will result in bigger perils and larger payoffs.
