Fractured Loop: The Cycle of Remph
⟣ Premise
The year is 9676 A.D.
Civilization spans thousands of worlds.
The Drift links the galaxy together through an interstellar infrastructure maintained by the megacorporation S.I.G.N.
But lately, something is wrong with the Drift.
Unexplainable anomalies.
Ghost-like entities appearing in transit lanes.
VR systems producing impossible imagery.
Lost ships reappearing after weeks or decades.
Jump routes collapsing, folding, or changing mid-flight.
The official explanation is “cosmic fluctuation.”
Independent researchers call it “a fundamental breakdown.”
And some whisper that the galaxy itself is… remembering things it shouldn’t.
⟣ The Mystery
Anomalies are growing stranger:
Drift Wraiths, phase-shifting entities that shouldn’t exist, are appearing with greater frequency.
Ancient artifacts known as Emulators are resurfacing across the frontier.
A strange “glitch-language” appears in machine readouts, dreams, reflections, and comm static.
S.I.G.N. officials are downplaying incidents… perhaps too aggressively.
Triune’s clergy reports “messages from the Machine-God,” but can’t agree on their meaning.
Some individuals (perhaps even you) are beginning to notice patterns.
Nothing makes sense.
More troubling:
The anomalies appear to be connected, but no one can explain how.
⟣ Themes and Tone (What to expect)
This is a sci-fantasy campaign that blends: space opera, cosmic horror, metaphysical puzzles, corporate intrigue, ancient technology, psychic VR realms, frontier exploration, personal mystery and character choice
Mass Effect meets Xenosaga, with a touch of Event Horizon and Control.
Your characters will explore a galaxy at its technological peak, one that is beginning to fracture at its foundations.
⟣ Character Expectations
Any Starfinder ancestry or class is welcome.
Homebrew options may be considered.
Characters could be:
explorers
scientists
soldiers
mystics
pilots
engineers
corporate operatives
anomaly survivors
or anyone curious about what’s going wrong in the Drift
You do not need to begin the game knowing anything about the deeper mystery.
You only need to be the kind of person who can survive long enough to uncover it.
⟣ What the Characters Will Do
Investigate strange incidents across colonized space
Encounter and fight Drift Wraiths and other anomalies
Explore derelict stations, forgotten sectors, and impossible hyperspace echoes
Dive into VR realms infected with surreal “glitch architecture”
Retrieve, protect, or decode ancient Emulators
Navigate S.I.G.N.’s corporate politics and possible cover-ups
Uncover the patterns behind the Drift’s disturbance
Decide what to do once the truth reveals itself piece by piece
The campaign begins grounded and technological…
and slowly expands into something far larger, stranger, and more personal.
⟣ My Promise
No railroading.
Player decisions matter... more than you realize at the start.
You won’t begin with knowledge of the cosmic truth…
but your actions will gradually attract the attention of forces far beyond your understanding.
Some want to help you.
Some want to silence you.
Some simply want to watch.
The galaxy is changing.
And you might be the first to notice.
