Ice Over Blackwood Pass

The village of Pineshaven, nestled in the foothills of the Stonespire Range, sits at the southern access of the Blackwood Pass. The pass was once a key trading route but has over the years fallen into disuse, its watchtowers abandoned and crumbling. Pineshaven no longer enjoys a prestigious position within the kingdom, but its tenacious villagers persist even through the long, cold winters, relying on their heritage of stone and timber cutting to sustain their livelihoods.

This winter, however, bodes ill--snow mounting, stores dwindling, and farm animals disappearing in the night. Through the warmth of the longhouse's bright fire, a cold thread of fear persists.
