Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary (4e)

Indianapolis by Night

GM darlis moonbeam · 10 players

An Anarchs Coterie - Your coterie has drifted east from Seattle to Chicago to Denver, chasing freedom and feeding where you can. Indianapolis was supposed to be just another rest stop as you head south… until you noticed something... the grip on the city is waning and ready to be taken. Prince Blue is too busy partying, the Sheriff has his fingers in outdated pies, the Keeper seems to be asleep, and only the Seneschal seems to care that you're here. Maybe this city isn't a rest stop at all, but the start of something big!

CHARACTER CREATION

You are Anarchs in a Camarilla world. No Sabbat/Camarilla infiltrators (That's the role of an NPC). Maybe you're hoping to impress the only kindred-known Anarch band with your skills... Maybe you're hoping to see the start of another Anarch Revolution and be a part of it! Whatever the reason, Indianapolis suddenly seems to be the place to be.

You will receive it everytime you gain XP or drive the story in a way that would gain you influence in a sphere. You can 'spend' it to make changes (spent influences are regained after 1 week). You can 'burn' it to make more severe changes. See rules on Influence to see how to spend/burn, and what changes this allows for.)

Individual Background Stories are not requisite since the Coterie has existed for decades. Part of the creation process will include the history of the Coterie.

STARTING XP: Start the game with 20xp. Xp may be used to exceed the above limitations.

FREEBIES: None, just the starting values above, and XP from the last game.

MERITS/FLAWS: You may take Merits if you like, but without Freebie points, that requires taking Flaws to pay for them. You may only buy Merits with the points from Flaws (not with XP).

RULES

I'm not going to be checking sheets much, it's too time consuming since I can't memorize every sheet. What I will do is, once in awhile, I'll check if a person's sheet matches what they posted (such as in a combat situation). Otherwise, I assume we're all adults and able to self-check ourselves.

The GOLDEN RULE: Don't overwhelm the board. We lost a LOT of players initially because a small number of the players would overwhelm the board with dialogue, and people would wake up 8 to 10 hours later to find pages gone past. Give people a chance to reply... just because you're in a dialogue, doesn't mean someone in the room wouldn't speak up and say something. EVEN if someone addresses you directly, please wait a minimum of 24 hours between posts or until GM posts (whichever comes first) so that others don't feel excluded from a conversation when they're obviously in the same room as you (if they can't check the game at least once every 24 hours, then it's on them for being excluded :P And I say this as someone who doesn't check the game on weekends usually).
