Iron Horizons
In Iron Horizons, players take on the roles of explorers, traders, spacers, soldiers, spies, privateers, and revolutionaries in a diesel-powered starfaring society founded after humans flung themselves into space during the Great War only to have the world order shattered by a decade-long war against the Axis powers that raged across the Solar System.
Four centuries on and humanity has spread to hundreds of star systems in Earth’s stellar neighborhood and learned that the lessons of history are easily forgotten. Ambitious governments fight for wealth and power, massive trade companies hold monopolies on entire star sectors, and corporate conglomerates buy and sell planets while the everyman tries to eke out a living through whatever means available, legal or otherwise. Life in space is hard, but for those willing to risk everything, their heart’s desire can be just within reach.
Despite the thousands of settled planets, humans have barely scratched the surface of the mysteries of deep space. Some go into the vastness of space for the sake of discovery, some for the sake of profit, some for the sake of a new life, and some for the sake of creating a legacy.
