Ironfang Invasion
Hi everyone! I’m a first-time GM. I’ve been looking into Pathfinder 1e for a while now, having been introduced separately by a friend on these forums. Recently in the past few months I’ve done some heavy research into the game’s systems, along with the ecosystem of tabletop gaming and the PbP niche. Since this burst of interest has continued for a decent chunk of time, I decided to try my hand at GMing because the demand was so high. Compared to being a player and having to craft recruitment applications, this might be less demotivating.
I’m willing to take up to 5-6 players at this time. Partly to make up the attrition through the holidays, and to have the ability to flexibly handle encounters.
If you’re not familiar with Ironfang Invasion…not to worry, because neither am I. Apologies! I haven’t read up on the entire AP yet, please forgive me. At this time of posting though I have at least read the first part of Trail of the Hunted: Night of the Iron Fangs. If suggested by more expert players, I can try and read through the whole first book by the time recruitment ends. I’ve heard it can take years in PbP for each chapter of an AP, so I didn't make it too much of a priority.
I do know there’s a Militia subsystem to watch out for. Currently debating on leaving it out. In the Player’s Guide, it does say that extra feats are available as an alternative, and that sounds good to me. As I do more research, I should have a concrete answer later on.
Posting rate should be several days a week. Ideally I have the ability to check in every day, but in practice I know there are times when I lose interest and have to be compelled into visiting Myth Weavers instead of doing it on my own volition like I’ve been doing during the past few weeks. As other things catch my interest, constant check-ins will become less frequent so the reduced posting rate is there as a buffer for me. I am reachable on the Discord though and a quick, detailed ping will almost certainly force me to respond.
I think in the long run, I’m going to realistically be pretty unreliable as much as it pains me to say. Going by experience, bursts of interest have the tendency to taper off. I also have ongoing concerns in my personal life which will likely be disruptive when they strike again. Finally, other obligations may become a higher priority from time to time. I am currently on break for one of these priorities, and that has a high chance of reducing my available energy reserves once it resumes. Thank you in advance for bearing with me over any issues.
As a martial player, I enjoy combat the most. To try and maintain momentum throughout a battle, it’ll probably be done through a 48-hour block initiative style, giving each block of players 48 hours to act as they fall in-between monster initiative rolls. I'll attempt to give warnings after 24 hours into this block.
I will pilot the player after this time frame if they haven’t responded. This gives me a rare chance to be a player as well!
If you are unable to respond for an extended period of time, please ask and we can wait. I also don't expect people to post on a holiday. Unmentioned delays will be handled on a case-by-case basis (reminders, generic action to follow the party, etc).
Combat maps will likely be done through either Roll20 or the site's native options, although I think Roll20 will end up being easier to handle for me.
Finally, I am leaning towards Milestone leveling. Less math to handle.
I hope I’ve gotten most of everything, although I probably missed a few things. Please let me know if I did, and thanks to everyone for reading.

A flaw may be taken for one additional trait.
