Shadowrun 4e

Lights in the Shadow - Shadowrun 4A

GM DVUS · 5 players

A Shadowrun 20th Anniversary Edition game that focuses on the characters, their contacts, and relationships.

The run was a tough one. Both lead and blood had flown across the hallway outside the server room while Nine-Mill had pulled security for the rest of his crew. His trenchcoat still smelled of burnt gunpowder. At the beginning, that smell had made him sick, but now it was just a reminder that he was still alive. And $5k richer, he noted with a smile as the payment notification scrolled across his goggles.

He leaned back in his reclining chair, pulled on his AR Gloves and punched in the comm-code for his good buddy, Buddy. The AI answered immediately. "Good evening, Nine-Mill. How did the run go?" Nine smiled at his friend. "Buddy, it went fantastic!"

This is a game of Shadowrun 20th Anniversary Edition that will focus on the characters and their friends and relationships. Shadowrun is such a rich world with many fantastic themes. For this game, I'd like to take a closer look at the characters and see what makes them tick, what makes them throw themselves into job after job. I want to see how the things they have to do in each job affect them and the people around them.

Most people aren't islands. That's the case for Shadowrunners, as well. I want to see those connections and explore how they mature and change.

The plan is to have this game be a 50/50 focus on doing the runs and role playing the downtime in between runs. Previous times I've run SR4A it's been all about "money, money, money, gear, gear, gear." I'm not interested in that for this game. Will the PCs earn money? Yes. Will they buy gear? Of course. But I also want to explore the PCs' friends' reactions to the runs they complete and gear they purchase.

This is not a slice of life game. This is an action game with plenty of interpersonal drama mixed in.

Character Submission:

400 build points, allowed books are Core, Runner's Companion, Arsenal, Augmentation, Street Magic, and Unwired.

I'm looking for 2-5 players. I'll take the first submissions, unless they don't align with the goals of the game in my opinion.

Initial Run:

The initial run will start in Seattle. The PCs are tasked with locating an elf by the name of Adam Jackson and placing a physical tracker on him to lead you to his safe. You will break into the safe and steal his Little Blackmail Book.
