Low Earth Orbital Rescue

System: Mothership

Premise:

On June 1, 2026, a strange spacecraft appeared in low Earth orbit. The spacecraft resembles two fused crosses. The Space Security Agency dispatched Alice and Bob to investigate. Shortly after they boarded, the ship vanished, and radio communications went dead.

On June 5, the ship reappeared. Radio calls still go unanswered. The Space Security Agency is sending your team aboard to search for and rescue Alice and Bob.

Length: Short adventure

Posting Frequency: At least once every 48 hours.

Absence Policy: If you are unable to post, please let us know in the OOC thread. Unannounced inactivity for over 48 hours will result in GM autopilot to keep the story moving.

House Rules: Since the story takes place in 2026, certain rules have been adjusted accordingly:

• Classes: Androids are banned.

• Skills:

  • Banned: Cybernetics, Sophontology, Exobiology, Xenoesotericism, Mysticism, Rimwise, Theology, Archaeology.

  • All players receive Zero-G for free.

  • Hyperspace is replaced with Topology.

• Equipment:

  • Each player starts with 6 standard items and 1 to 2 personal items.

  • Standard items:

    • Spacesuit

    • Portable video camera

    • Walkie-talkie

    • Flashlight

    • Tether line

    • First aid kit

  • Personal items are decided by the player. Any reasonable item is OK.

How to Apply: Create a Mothership character sheet for your astronaut and answer the following questions:

1. What are your character's personality traits?

2. What are your character's personal items?

3. Do you have any specific content lines/veils or triggers (e.g., body horror, arachnids)?
