“A Company of young knights travels the lands of Felcor's Coast in search of Myths and Glory”

Seek the Myths, Honour the Seers, Protect the Realm

A company of young knights-errant arrives at Felcor's Coast, named for a young maiden who fled here in a past age. This is the realm of old Coldan Wachter, the Horn Knight, who rules from his seat of power at Icewine Stay. The lands of Felcor's Coast are famed for strange omens and happening and the young knights are here to find Glory in the discovery and revelation of the Myths that manifest in these wilds. The Myths will come to pass; so say the Seers. The knights hope to bear witness to them at the least or, at most, play a role in their unfolding. Succor and guidance can be found at the realm's holdings or by consulting strange and reclusive seers, if those can be found.

Player Realm.pngMythic Bastionland is a rules-light game of knights journeying the countryside in search of mythic revelations and glory. There are meaningful decisions in and out of combat and player actions have a significant impact on the world. Player characters are selected or rolled from seventy-two distinct knights. The system favors exploration and interaction with the setting over character customization and mechanical progression.

This campaign will be played as an ongoing Saga as Myths are revealed and resolved. The company of knights begins at one of the shoreline hexes, from which they explore as the players desire. At the resolution of a Myth, players and GM may decide to advance to a new Season.

Game Details

Number of Players: 2-4

Additional Players: I will open the game for new players whenever there are fewer than four active players and will drop any new recruits into the game in progress.

System Knowledge: Prior experience with Mythic Bastionland or its predecessor Into the Odd is not necessary, but I suggest you do enough research to at least understand what style of game this is, especially as relates to the use of predefined knight templates. The videos linked above are a good starting point. Mythic Bastionland might not appeal to players primarily interested in complex character builds and PC progression planning.

Character Creation: After applications are accepted, players will select or roll for one of the seventy-two knights. I am prepared to support a wide range of backstory depth; you can go with just the inspiration of the knight sheet or can add additional biographical detail to your character as you like.

Exploring the Realm: The main activity of Mythic Bastionland is traveling around the map to discover Myths and unknown sites. As we play, I will update the map with your discoveries. Players will probably want to keep shared notes on what they've found in each hex and we can do that with a wiki page or a dedicated forum.

Post Frequency: I'd like everyone to at least check in once per day on average. That doesn't necessarily mean a full in-character post, but some kind of engagement with OOC forums to keep things active and move player decisions forward.

Applications

Because Mythic Bastionland character creation is mostly selecting or rolling for one of the predefined knight templates and then rolling just a few stats, I think it makes sense to wait until after players have been approved to create characters. In your application, I'm mainly looking for an indication of what interests you about this game, any previous experience with similarly rules-light systems, and your general RPG background.
