Raiders of the Broken Coast

GM Spider42Jerusalem · 1 player

Pirates of the Scharde Islands along Immoren's Broken Coast. Do you have what it takes to survive? Or are you already dead? Does it matter?

An elderly man, sitting on the furthest spit of Blackwater, the one where the tides hit the worst, where the fog is thickest, and the stench of rotting fish is the strongest, he looks up as you leave the gangplank of your erstwhile ferry. His one good eye glimmers with all the enlightened wisdom that madness brings, his one milky eye, weeps a single tear down the scales of a face who's suffered long from Dragonblight . . .

Mad Merdach

Ye are not the good guys and this is not a hero's tale.

Menoth's pantaloons, me kinders! You might've been press-ganged, horn-swaggled, lit up on the poppy's pipe, or even walked aboard by yer own free will. By the depths of Urcaen and the will of the Dragonfather, we might've even brought ye back from the dead--or worse--but yer here! That's the ticket, ain't it? To raid and pillage until yer black, withered heart is content, that's the Scharde way, the Dragonfather's way, the Cryxian way.

Aye, lad and lass, yer on the pier of Blackwater, and no two bones about it (ha! a nation of necromancers too, sure'n'be'sure!) ye'll find either violence or riches here. What riches? Why, them's up to ye and yer ambition, of course! Gold? Power? Status? Souls, even? Worse yet (I know, I know, it keeps getting worse!), even Orgoth artifacts, amaright? Ye'll find that and more here in Blackwater. Assuming ye live long enough to collect it, of course. I could tell ye where an' whom to watch out fer, but why spoil me fun, eh?
