SETTING OVERVIEW

Welcome to a galaxy ruled not by laws, but by legacy.

The Imperium spans thousands of systems across the spiral arms of the galaxy, governed by a feudal order as ancient as it is ruthless. Power flows through noble bloodlines, enforced by militarized sects, merchant cabals, and psychic orders that trace their histories into myth. The throne itself is occupied by an Emperor or Empress elected only by noble peers—and removed only by unanimous consent.

Yet even thrones must bow to greater truths.
The Leynet—a vast extradimensional current of thought and intent—binds worlds together through ships known as Reliquaries. These vessels are the only means of faster-than-light travel and are maintained by a priesthood of otherworldly emissaries bound to no crown. To harbor violence within the Leynet is to be annihilated not by law, but by the plane’s very nature.

In this galaxy, Prism is king: a refined form of Vitracite, the rarest crystal in known space, granting cognition, propulsion, immortality, and madness in equal measure. The shadowy Guilds, enigmatic Choirs, and planetary Lords all fight for access to this resource. Wars are waged with blades that shimmer against kinetic shields, voices that command minds, and oaths that can shatter dynasties.

Beneath this celestial empire lurks something older, colder, and infinitely patient. The Shadow Choir, a cabal of unseen manipulators, has shaped the course of galactic destiny for millennia, cultivating the birth of a so-called God-King—a messianic figure engineered from prophecy, pain, and paradox.

But who holds the leash? And what happens when a divine icon turns to look upon its makers?

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A setting inspired by Dune, Warhammer 40k, Foundation, Villeneuve-style aesthetics, and Byzantine politics.

  • Philosophical explorations of power, prophecy, and the dangers of charisma.

  • The political theater of empire: courtly intrigue, veiled threats, betrayal, and desperate alliances.

  • Strange technology that borders on magic: psychic navigation, consciousness-powered machines, and sentient relics.

  • Characters who are agents of power—nobles, pilots, scholars, assassins—seeking agency in a world designed to consume them.

You will find heroes and villains, certainly…
But if that is all you see, you will miss the truth.

PLAYER GUIDANCE

  • This is a setting about shades of grey, not good and evil. Expect moral ambiguity, internal conflict, and hard choices.

  • Violence is potent, but words, loyalty, and information are just as deadly.

  • The setting rewards creative thinking, layered roleplay, and bold strategic choices.

  • All classes are welcome, but reflavoring and subclass support will be provided for thematic cohesion.

  • New custom backgrounds and lore-centric mechanics are integrated.

Be wary of charismatic leaders—especially of the one staring back at you in the mirror.
