The Hand Beyond Time
It is Midsummer in Thess, where the local Baron is doing the business of the King's Census, as tradition holds in certain years. Normally it is a tepid affair, made brighter with the Midsummer Fair, at the least, to make up for the travel that people must make. This time, however, things have been tense, as there has been a streak of murders related to people reporting to their designated Census-reporting locations to get head-counted. It has been like a stalker has been going around trying to find someone specific on the rolls, and Kill them. In the various baronies of Thess, people are on edge with Midsummer coming about, and the fairs bringing the peak of the population to the cities and towns and so watches are posted nervously, hoping to find the perpetrator of the killings before anyone else is killed, could it be you, next?
