The Pilgrimage of Seven Vows

GM Syndl · 7 players

A sacred journey to rekindle ancient pacts that keep the land from collapsing into despair. Each location demands a vow be tested: Truth, Mercy, Courage, Devotion, Freedom, Compassion, and Hope.

The Seven Vows were never meant to be lofty words carved into stone and forgotten. They are the quiet architecture of the realm—what keeps roads safe at dusk, keeps neighbors speaking after a hard winter, keeps grief from hardening into cruelty. People say the Vows are “just ideals,” but everyone has lived through the proof: when promises are kept, life holds; when they’re broken often enough, the world itself begins to slip. Lately, it’s been slipping in ways too personal to dismiss—names going missing mid-conversation, old feuds rekindling without spark, contracts changing under steady ink, apologies that bounce off like rain on glass.

There is an old remedy for Fray Years, older than any crown: a Pilgrimage walked not to conquer evil, but to renew the realm’s better nature by living it out loud. Seven sites. Seven tests. Not trials of strength, but trials of choice—Truth, Mercy, Courage, Devotion, Freedom, Compassion, Hope—each one asking something you can’t fake for long, each one requiring witness. The world does not need perfect saints. It needs people who have wrestled with their own vows and still dared to keep going—people who know what it costs to tell the truth, to forgive without erasing harm, to love without possession, to hope without lying to themselves.

So the invitations have gone out—sealed in seven muted colors, addressed to those who have ever kept a promise that hurt. Come to the Wayhouse of the Second Lantern, where the kettle is always warm, and the road begins where comfort ends. Bring what you can carry: your skills, your regrets, your tenderness, your sharp edges, your unfinished apologies. You are not being asked to save the world with a blade. You are being asked to help mend it with your presence—step by step, vow by vow—until the realm remembers what it is, and you remember what you are willing to be.
