Legendsung

GM PluralBoats · 5 players

A Fabula Ultima game set in an alternate and more fantastical version of the world of the game and anime series Utawarerumono - a blend of Ainu and Japanese culture and mythology, as well as fantasy and science fiction. No knowledge of the games or anime is needed!

Centuries ago, in an age shrouded in myth and legend, the various tribes of Ezo and the lands beyond were held in the thrall of their creators, Onvitaikayan. Then, a benevolent god ascended, and struck down the divine tyrant. This god is known today by many names: Uitsualnemetia. They Who Are Sung. The Liberator. Utawarerumono.

The Legendsung.

Since then, the tribes flourished. Villages were built, then towns, then cities. Kingdoms and empires. But, despite their common origin, the flames of war and conquest began to burn. Ancient evils from the mythical age stir in their slumber. New threats to life and liberty arise.

If darkness grips the land and tribes, will Uitsualnemetia set the people free once more? Will new heroes arise, whose deeds will also be immortalized in song?

Or is Ezo destined to be dominated by a tyrant once more?

Legendsung is an alternate universe and setting based upon the somewhat obscure series of Utawarerumono. Knowledge of the setting is not required to play in this game - in short, it is a fantastical setting that blends elements of fantasy, pre-Edo Japanese and Ainu culture, and science fiction.

The humans of the setting all have animalistic and other unusual features, and magic and supernatural creatures exist. It is, nonetheless, set in the future of Earth, specifically Japan, as well as Siberia.

Characters will be residents or sojourners in the village of Siwnin-Suma, who will get embroiled in a rebellion, which will unveil a threat greater and more terrible than any cruel liege lord...

There is a lot of information here, but the main thread to read in detail is the Character Creation Information thread, and it would be wise to at least skim the setting overview... unless, of course, you're planning on playing an amnesiac largely ignorant of the setting.

Please ensure you have the 1.1 books!
