GM R3tr0naut · 0/5 players · posts Every few days

“The Whispering Tyrant stirs in his underground prison and flexes his arcane might through his Whispering Way minions, eager to threaten all of Golarion once again. This time with a powerful weapon the world has never seen before.”

If you are interested in the game, please create a topic in the Applications tab; the Characters forum will be for accepted characters. I'd prefer you to change the title to something along the lines of: Name, Race, Class (e.g., Unga Bunga, Half-Orc Barbarian) once you've decided who you'd like to play. You can mark it as "Work in Progress" or simply leave the status blank, but when you're ready, mark it as "Ready for Review" and ping me with a mention so I can take a look.
NOTE: The mechanical aspects of your character sheet will not be reviewed until after I have selected the players. Your mechanical choices will not affect the selection process.

Deadline: Currently set for Tuesday, August 25th, GMT. If I don't have a good pool of applicants by then, I'll consider extending it.

Read the Player's Guide.

Materials: Any official PF1e books are fine. You can use d20pfsrd or Archives of Nethys to build your character.

Level: 5th

Ability Scores: 25 Point Buy. No ability score below 8 or above 18 before racial modifiers.

Races: Core races, plus Aasimar, Dhampir, Fetchling, Sylph, Changeling, Tiefling, and Skinwalker.

Character Age: 18-30 (the same equivalent for other races).

Classes:

  • Core: All

  • Base: No Gunslinger (Bolt Ace is fine), Omdura, Shifter, Summoner, Vigilante, or Vampire Hunter.

  • Hybrid: All

  • Occult: All. However, when choosing an Occult class, keep in mind that this campaign features undead who are completely immune to all mind-affecting effects.

  • Unchained: Barbarian, Monk, and Rogue are allowed.

  • Not allowed: Ninja and Samurai.

I'd also prefer to avoid animal companions, familiars, followers, and mounts. If you choose a class that normally grants one of these features, please select an archetype that replaces it.

Multiclassing is allowed, but you can only multiclass into one additional class. Please note that Variant Multiclassing (VMC) is not allowed.

Archetypes: Allowed.

Feats: Most Paizo-published feats are permitted; no third-party feats are allowed.

Banned Feats: Leadership, Craft Wondrous Item and Antagonize. I reserve the right to veto any feat if I believe it might disrupt game balance.

Traits: 2 free traits; take a Drawback for one additional trait. However, if you take a Drawback, you'd better RP it through your character's personality—and expect me to do the same in the game. You don't have to take a Campaign Trait from the Player's Guide.

Religion: Characters may worship any deity, but their alignment must be within one step of their deity's alignment.

Alignment: Good or Neutral only.

Hit Points: Maximum at 1st and 2nd level, average thereafter.

Starting Wealth: 10,500 gp. Spend it wisely. Keep in mind that when you start the game, at some point you will only have access to a traveling merchant with very limited shopping options. Make sure to buy all your essential high-tier gear now, during character creation—you may not get another chance for quite some time.

Pre-game Crafting: Not allowed.

Elephant in the Room: In effect. If you have a bonus feat that gets replaced, you gain a bonus feat instead.

Background Skills: In effect.

Character Art: Please provide a portrait of your character. No anime and no real-life portraits. Keep it within the vein of dark fantasy/horror and make sure the portrait matches the tone of the game.

Physical Description: A paragraph is enough. Make sure the description is consistent with your character's image.

Personality: A paragraph or two. Describe what your character is like in everyday life, what they like and dislike, and how they behave. You know the drill.

Backstory: It doesn't have to be long. The most important thing is to show who your character is and what led them to the path of adventure. End your character's story with their arrival at Rosslar's Coffer, including their reason for coming there.

If you have any questions, please ask in the appropriate thread.
