    To all,

I had a stroke. Clearly I am alive still, which is a blessing I appreciate every day as do my children and wife.

However, I was in an induced coma for nearly three weeks and in the hospital for almost two months.

I am now home but with partial paralysis of my left side which I'm trying to work through with physical therapy. I've got a long road to recovery ahead but the prognosis is exceptional with the possibility for full recovery, so I'm hopeful.

I will not be back here to MW for at least another four months. But, I will be back!

Best wishes for all in the new year!

    ~ Ryfte

Wow. Thought I was dealt a blow (TT then they found a growth so more surgery etc) but you trumped me!

I hope all goes well Ryfte!

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year all

Creed says nothing but raises an eyebrow at the display. There was certainly some power struggles going on here and he appreciated the Hobgoblin was at least forthright. Or maybe. Suspicion flared within him but he was far from a good judge of character.

Seeing his fellows go to look at the gear, he looks at most of the worthless gear impassively until something catches his eye. Reaching over he lifts a medallion on a chain and turns it over in his hand, noting the crest of a small, demonic creature on it. With a satisfied "hrmph" he slips the chain over his neck. He picks through the rest of the gear and picks up a pack to pop a few things into. As the others look at him he simply shrugs. However he does pause as the succubus disrobes, never one to disregard beauty he takes all of her in but quickly moves on. He had dallied with a succubus in the past and only trouble had followed.

Creed picks up a Drow Insignia (360gp Races of Faerun, pg173) imbued with the 1st level spell Babau Slime.

He will also pick up a backpack and load it with a few basic items - I'll list these in my thread.

  3. I think what is trying to be said here is, you are having a number of prospective players not even try creating a character due to poor rolls. Now if you're talking fair play, giving everyone the same rolls or point buy evens the playing field.

I'd be more than happy to create a character if there was the opportunity to say "I'd like a 16 str and con with the rest of my stats being average please" rather than rely on the commoner stats I rolled. Hence my pulling pin after seeing the rolls and not wanting to push/annoy the GM.

  4. Hey mate, I’m in a quarterly business review meeting all day, then out with the GM of the company. So unlikely to be able to post (doing this from the phone) until tomorrow sorry

I'm really sorry mate, I completely missed that. You'll have to scratch that. TheFred's summation is correct.

    Not a problem whatsoever :)

  6. So this isn't Eberron? I mean.. it's part of his backstory that he is a shifter Dhampir that came from Eberron, Varna in particular. But I can scratch that if you like?

His eyes narrow at the group sitting at the table and he walks up, eyeing each one as he walks back and forth in front of them. His eyes track each, noting everything he can about them. Then, without a word he grabs a seat and sits in front of the priestess, the seat groaning in protest.

Let the talkers talk He thinks as he gauges the threat levels of those in front of him. Casters were annoying but couldn't do much when under a boot.

I never seen a game get so many applicants that either don't like their rolls or claim they can't think up an idea for a character and so drop out.

I'll try to help with your understanding. I think you'll find that a majority of players like to be able to do something well in a game of D&D. But when you get rolls that make you average at best... well no-one plays a fantasy game to be that average guy that doesn't contribute alot.

In 3.5, the standard array is 15 14 13 12 10 8. When you get significantly below this with rolls and have no chance to try again, you're not a hero, you're a commoner.

Anyway, for those that get to play. Enjoy!

No mortal door should stand up to his strength, at least one never used to be able to.

"I don't like cages." He growls as his claw-like hands rip into the wood.

Well that was a damn rush he thought as he remembers drinking the paladins blood then passing out.

He takes a moment to look at his surroundings, noting the door and lack of anything else. His brain goes into overdrive considering the warm stone and where the witch was going to take them. I'm surprised she actually brought us anywhere and didn't slit our throats.

He looks over at Kerapsis and Molgrug. With a nod toward Kerapsis in greeting he eyes Molgrug. In a tone that made it unclear if he is joking or annoyed he notes. "Oh great. You survived."

Creed ponders where they could be or if they are in a mountain/volcano etc. He also looks to clues in the room and eyes the walls for secret passages.

Not sure what the LoL is for. It seems like the basic premise of this entire game is that these things are not available now but will be.

Mate. Apologies. Seems I was a bit out of line for making jest. I'll be more serious in the future.

I'm sure if you look around you'll find plenty of information on Binders. But again, my suggestion is to play something you'll enjoy rather than filling a hole.

    It lacks finesse.
Also, those are not available at first level.

Lol but Succubi aren't generally available at first level either 😅

  15. Who needs Diplomacy or Sense Motive when you have Charm Monster and Suggestion at will?

Binders are a great class. The choice of Vestige you bind will depend on what you want to do

He holds the man still and drains him dry.
