Enoch pauses, appraising the robot. He examines the screen and the package's contents carefully. Presuming he sees nothing concerning, he accepts the package and then scans the contents with his devices and then moves to a private spot to open the package and do further examination of the contents.

Enoch whiffed on his contact roll, so that's what I had to offer.

Max makes no effort to stop the man from reaching his son. "You have your justice, at least good ser. My condolences on the loss of your son."

Max follows after towards the back, where he heard a sound.
He quickly glanced back at the crime scene. Was the window and door broken from the inside? Where are the splinters and glass?
Max looms over the man and frowns, he doesn't whisper, so much as lower the resonance of his voice.
As he speaks, he circles the man, blocking escape.
"What brings you here good sir? Skulking behind this establishment."

Max lets Red do the investigating for the most part. He does check any evidence found for signs of it having Religious or Extra-planar influences or significance.

"I have the majority of my magic remaining. I've trained myself to be conservative in its use. My lightning and blasts of frigid air do not tax my arcane acuity. I do appreciate your expenditures though. Between our combined efforts, I believe we should be fine to proceed. A great deal of my magic is excellent for handling subterranean situations. I can block off passages and cause localized cave-ins. I still have most of my divination capabilities remaining as I have not needed to read the strings of fate much today."

Max glares back at the man, panting heavily, his fury subsiding. He is still not, staring down, questioning the dying vandal. "Who be your kin to notify and to which church shall I deliver your body?"

"MURDERS TOO! FEEL THE WRATH OF KORD!"
He barrels on towards the larger of the pair, brandishing his stylized weapon and slicing at the man. His mouth agape, roaring his response as he closes.

Varrik nods. "I'd be delighted to join. I do have obligations to my compatriots, so I cannot promise the whole day, but I would love to be a part of the ensemble. And a chance to make some more acquaintances is welcome."

Max watches Red work, lending his eye to the man and trying not to let his bulk get in the way. He's obviously well trained in these things. Max's only other help would be to identify anything that seems extra-planar or of religious import, other than the prominent Vecna symbol. He does judge the innkeeper to make sure there's nothing being held back. "Say, was there anything missing? Or the man's possessions? What race was he? Where was he from? Other details?"

A stained, wrinkled, and torn grey cloak hangs from the back of the figure before you, ostensibly the paladin mentioned. His helmet protrudes from the mantle like a mountain from a rough sea. With visor up, and his armor, he's nearly seven feet tall and over half as wide. As the new arrival steps in, max turns, showing his greyed beard and ruddy face with a dour frown.
One dented gauntlet strikes his greying beard, the other on his stylized blade, a multi-pointed weapon looking like a small wagon wheel made of varied other weapons as spokes. A tabard over the armor bears a red, white, and blue tartan, the heraldry of Kord, the Brawler.
His right eye raises, further wrinkling his aging brow as he appraises the new arrival. His voice is boisterous and uplifting. "Well look at you lad! What a sight! Red is it? Call me Max, as stated! And I'm not a knight, though I'd be blessed for the honor. I hear there's a gruesome scene ahead of us. Steel yourself lad. Shall we then?"
Upstairs, Max frowns as he looks at the symbol on the wall, he ponders it, trying to see if he recognizes it...

Enoch is displeased at having to leave his weaponry behind. Despite his displeasure, he complies, though the weaponry is left with drones able to deploy it to him swiftly if/as needed.
