Hi everyone! I'm a long time rpg fan and homebrewer. In my adult years (with a partner, kids, and a pesky job I have to go to most days) it's real tough to get a local group together, or even set up online sessions. However, I'm not ready to give up on this hobby yet, so I've taken to PbP/PbF. I have (varying) experience as a player in a fair number of popular systems (D&D, Shadowrun, SW, SilCore, BitD...), and I'm a quick study on new systems, though PbP/PbF is a new medium for me.

As I write this, I recently started playing in a 1st ed. D&D game in a different forum, but I think I can fit another game, maybe two, into my schedule. One of the last things I usually do before bed is chill out on my laptop, catch up on my feeds, and post to forums.

My play style tends toward characters that are concept driven on some level (depending on the system), but I'm also keeping the rule sets in mind. Not so much a power gamer or a rules lawyer, but I'm cognizant of how a concept would actually play out with a rule set and adjust accordingly. I tend towards games with a little meat on their bones over freeform games or story engines (like FATE or PbtA). I do have a soft spot for Mouse Guard, though, despite the system being a little wonky. And, I have a great appreciation for BitD, which is often considered a PbtA game, but I don't see it that way.

Anyway, I'm just here checking out the scene, and will maybe try to get in on some games.
