Passing the hill and the standing stone dedicated to Nergal felt like stepping into another world as if the mists had parted to reveal a sacred site. The next burial mound over was adorned with smaller standing stones, some barely a few feet high, scattered across the hill every few dozen feet, with some obscured by marsh grass. Allen could almost discern a trail leading towards the mound.

As the group drew closer to the mound, it appeared as if fingers of bone were protruding from the ground, as if trying to crush the entrance to this particular burial mound.

Listening to the conversation around him, Allen retrieved another bottle of lamp oil from his pack. He filled the lantern and lit it, readying himself to enter the mound. With his shield at the ready and the lantern held firmly in his weapon hand, he responded to Tharnakalian's question, "We will not know the answer to that until we get inside."

Surveying the skulls and bones scattered around, he remarked, "I have no idea. One skull to me looks pretty much like another."

As they approached the entrance of the tomb, Allen fell into step behind Zaivie and Dougal. "This whole place is heavy with the oppression of the undead," he observed solemnly. "Perhaps we can find the source and put a stop to it once and for all. But to do that, we must enter the Maze."

  2. Modred Mistdragoon

Memorized Spells: level 1: Sleep x2 Level 2 Levitate, Knock

As the food and ale are delivered to the table, Modred reaches into the folds of his robes and produces a worn pouch of the softest leather. With deft movements, he dips a spoon into the pouch, scooping out a spoonful of ground Dark Root. Carefully, he adds it to the teapot, stirring it in before replacing the top.

"My only concern is that once we get the treasure on board, they will renege on their deal and take it all," Modred voices his apprehension, his expression serious as he pours himself a cup of black root tea from the prepared pot. He sets the pot down, inviting his companions to share their thoughts.

"Do you trust this captain?" he queries, his gaze shifting from one face to another as he sips his tea.

  3. BLUEGIANT.jpg.990c76ff8267cbc65e4718c39b8f462c.jpg

As the trio skulked through the long-ruined building, there was a purpose to their journey, and it was soon realized, for before them stood the armory and vault. Nobody had been here in years; cobwebs and dust clung heavily to everything. Jouka began to search for suitable weapons and settled on a flail. In the hands of a man, it would have taken two hands, but for the Blue Giant, he easily hefted it in one and secured it to a wide steel and leather belt he found lying on the ground.

Next, the Beast Master moved to a set of pikes. The wicked-looking spearhead was an ancient design. This weapon would serve as a spear for Jouka, though in the hands of a man, it would have been used differently. The Andrak that seemed to have bonded with Jouka paced back and forth at the entryway into the armory, clearly impatient with its bonded companion.

The Blue Giant spent a few more moments collecting gear that would aid them in their travels, mostly camping gear and other necessities for an adventurer.

Once he had equipped himself, he rejoined the others and addressed Balathu, "Your master is my master’s liege Lord?"

No worries! Fate is a tricky animal to grok. It took me many approaches to "get it" and I still learn new things all the time.

Roryb, Thanks for continuing to teach me the game. I wish I could get into a game in RL I think it would help me grasp the concepts much faster lol. I bought the rule book, a set of dice, and a set of fate tokens. The dice and tokens are still in the blister pack lol.

Okay, good job. I will roll their active opposition below. Your powers will be based on the most prescriptive skill unless it's not obvious. For example, Force: Push will be based on Vigor, Force: Jump would be based on Athletics, Force: Search Your Feelings is based on Empathy, and so on. Stunts can modify or change skills, and relevant aspects can be called upon to increase effectiveness or expand permissions. Having a Force Sensitive aspect can also expand permissions to do things (an impossibly wide chasm could be leapt over using the Force where it would he impossible for someone else).

Nice! A complete success for Amon! Will update later...

I updated my character sheet with the burb about the force from the star wars Fate thingie we are using hopefully it will remind me about all that stuff in the future

Actually, that's Deception. Force stuff seems like it might be Will, but Will is more a defensive ability against attempts to deceive or provoke you rather than offensive powers (unless you have a stunt).

then that roll is a +3 I have +2 in Deception

will all my Force powers be based on Deception or the abilities in the +2 category?

As the barmaid approaches, already anticipating their needs, Modred offers a warm smile in response. "Ah, perfect timing. A pitcher of ale and some food for my companions and I, if you please," he requests, handing her the gold crown from his pouch to settle the tab.

"Also, could you bring me a teapot filled with hot water and an empty mug?" he adds before she can depart, ensuring he has all he needs for a comforting cup of tea.

With the barmaid attending to their requests, Modred turns his attention to their companions gathered around the table. "What news from the Docks?" he inquires, his tone casual yet curious, eager to hear any updates or developments that may have occurred in their absence.

Allen takes a seat next to his employer and waits for his meal.

  8. Amon.jpeg.27f65a1bd37e8be30934801f2e2551b7.jpegThe sudden appearance of Imperials gave Amon pause. The Jedi Master had not expected them to have as much of a presence in Night City as on the surface. "After all, the Dark Sun crime syndicate mostly controlled the undercity." His thoughts were broken up by the imperial officer standing before his group.

“Your data, please,” the sallow bald official demanded with an outstretched hand. “Now, if you would.”

The Jedi master began to rummage through his outer garment in a fake attempt to locate his data stick. His modified clone trooper armor was visible to those around him as he searched. Amon suddenly seems to remember where it is and sort of quickly waves his hand toward the gathered imperials.

“Ah, I have given it to you already and you just cleared us.”

    Allen and the Money Lender

Allen walks to The Rosy Quartz in the morning and meets H.H.R Huffnpuff, the proprietor.

Huffnpuff is an amiable human man with a head of curly brown hair. He greets you with a smile that extends nearly from ear to ear and introduces himself in grand fashion.

"H.H.R Huffnpuff, jeweler, money mender, and purveyor of ancient antiquities. How may I be of service?"

You inquire about lending rates with the idea of purchasing a suit of plate mail, but Huffnpuff quickly dismisses the idea.

"With all due respect, I wouldn't extend that loan. Don't get me wrong. I recognize you from the Strumpet, and I know your group has been selling treasures from the Barrowmoor to Turgen, but you're asking to borrow a lot of money, and I don't like to take big risks. But if you keep having success, we can do business in the future. For now, bring some of those treasures here! I have quite a few contacts in Ironguard Motte who pay good money for rare items."

Visibly disappointed by the refusal of a loan, Allen leaned on the counter, his expression reflecting his frustration. "Does your contact pay better than Turgen?" he inquired, his tone tinged with a hint of skepticism. Despite the setback, he remained determined to find a solution that would enable him to continue his pursuit of wealth and adventure.

    Obviously.

On a more serious note, my vote would be due north. Mounds #2 and #4 are both unexplored, plus there's always a chance we could scout #7 where we saw the Bastard and see if they managed a way in. Actually, I may run over to Karg's real quick and see if Gern is still there...

Worst case, we could pick up the two amphorae on the way back if the day is a complete bust.

That's just my vote, open to suggestions.

lets explore mound number 12 on the way, please.

I will want to check out the money lender to see what his rates are then see if there is a suit of plate mail in stock in town.

"Those double doors are how I was brought in," Jouka declares, gesturing towards the imposing entrance. "We can leave the same way, but first I need to get some gear from the vaults." He points down the north corridor. "I believe the vaults are in this direction."

With resolve in his eyes, the blue giant rolls up his prayer mat and uses the attached strap to sling it across his back. Tatonka trots up beside its new companion, awaiting his lead

Modred and Allen return to their companions, Linnard in tow. The magician's cheeks still flush with the memory of the kiss he had received from Yolanda, his thoughts momentarily elsewhere as he joins the group gathered at the table.

"It was not as informative as I would have liked," Modred admits after a moment, his attention refocusing on the present. "However, I did come across a former companion from another group. Allow me to present Linnard, a cleric of no small repute." He gestures towards his new companion with a sense of pride. "I believe he would make a nice addition to our band, and I can vouch for his honor."

As he introduces Linnard to the group, Modred's gaze flickers briefly towards Yolanda, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips before he turns his attention back to his companions, eager to hear their thoughts on the matter.

"What did I miss?"

The fighter flags down a serving wench " Miss can you please bring me an ale and a wedge of cheese and a chunk of day-old bread?

OOC: sorry for my absence long weekend GM if you could tell me how much a bath and a good garment washing costs I will deduct it from my sheet. can I assume that the group fills me in on what has been said I am caught up reading the in-game posts

  16. TEAM ONE: Max, Zemi, and Hakai

image.png.f0bddf75d8eca6a391abc0e273a4f69c.pngMax, Zemi, and Hakai traversed the short distance to the Luxen Import/Export Bazaar's main office. The docking pads were conveniently close to the various warehouses in the shipping district of Night City, and Max couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity as they approached the Bazaar. The atmosphere, a blend of legitimate business and concealed criminal activities, stirred memories of his past experiences.

"Be on your guard," Max cautioned his companions, his words carrying the weight of seasoned wisdom. "Even though it may seem like a legitimate business, most everything in Night City is a front for some gang or crime syndicate."

Zemi, already utilizing the sensors in her Mandalorian helmet, scanned the surroundings. "I do not detect any threats at the moment, but will keep you posted, kid," she relayed through her helmet's commlink. On the other hand, Hakai, unfamiliar with this clandestine world, reached out with her limited knowledge of the Force, attempting to sense any signs of impending trouble.

Entering the compound, the group made their way to the warehouse and stepped into the shipping office. Max, taking the lead, surveyed the area before pressing a buzzer. The others positioned themselves in the waiting room, vigilant for any potential dangers.

After a brief pause, a Chadra-Fan emerged from a back room. The small, batlike humanoid eyed the group before stepping up to the counter. "What do you want?" it queried in a sharp tone.

Max handed over a data stick. "We need to pick up the shipment noted on this data stick. It was held up in customs." The Chadra-Fan accepted the data stick and inserted it into the computer terminal, initiating the process of verifying their claim.

TEAM TWO: Amon, Willa, and Felagi

Amon.jpeg.27f65a1bd37e8be30934801f2e2551b7.jpegMeanwhile, Amon, Willa, and Felagi found themselves on board a densely packed transport bound for the surface. The craft buzzed with activity, a microcosm of Coruscant's diverse populace. Amon's keen eyes studied the faces of the citizens, discerning the subtle nuances that hinted at their destinies. Among them were those heading off-world, others gearing up for shift work at the Imperial shipyards or other industries on the surface. Each person carried the weight of opportunity and uncertainty, a chance to rise in social and economic standing.

Amon reflected on Maxon's journey, once a street urchin in similar circumstances. Against the Jedi Council's objections, Amon had recognized Maxon's latent connection to the Force and taken him as his second apprentice. The initial years were challenging, as Amon had to cleanse the shadows of Night City from Maxon before imparting the ways of the Force.

The transport suddenly jolted to a halt during its ascent, alerting the passengers. Imperial immigration officials, accompanied by Storm Trooper Bodyguards, boarded the vessel. Dressed in the iconic white power armor with gold shoulder pads denoting their specialty, they requested to see personal data sticks from everyone.

Amon, perplexed, whispered to Willa, "What are they doing here?"

Willa, with a calm demeanor, responded, "Looks like the Emperor has expedited the Imperial Citizen Immigration Act. It's a way of registering all the people in the Empire. You can't buy, sell, trade, or move without a number. Getting off-world is near impossible without a personal data stick."

Amon's confusion prompted more explanation from the diplomat. "Remain calm. Cooler heads will prevail. With luck, we'll be directed to a processing center topside, and we can figure things out there." She placed a reassuring hand on the Jedi Master's shoulder, instilling a sense of composure amidst the uncertainty.

was this post ok? or should I not try to complicate things in my narrative? Just wondering. In this instance, I was trying to bring my seed of rebellion into play

I don't know how many hours until dark but those amphorae were in mound 1 so not exactly on our way home but not too far. Not sure if we went to grab it if we'd make it back to Helix by dark. We have light sources but I wouldn't want to be out on the moor in the dark with a torch announcing to everything with eyes where we were.

it's not the things with eyes we should be worried about lol.

Thought about suggesting we stop and pick up the other two amphorae on the way (left in one of the barrows we looted earlier), but figured it's better to quit while we're ahead.

if its not too far out of the way that is a great idea
