  1. Just a question.

My Ooc thread always shows that there is an unread post, when there isn't.

Is there any way to quickly fix this?

    Ooc

I think we get extra since we were charged full price for the cloaks of charisma, instead of their sales price.

That's 500 GP overcharge each directly from Anhotep's and Raisin's Gold.

    Ooc

    The 4 options are:

    1. Use the gang's escape tunnel that was found during Ptemenib's rescue. I LIKE THIS OPTION SINCE IT'S SNEAKY!
    2. Plow through the horde of undead at the front gate. I THINK WE SHOULD FLY AND CARPET BOMB THEM WITH HOLY WATER FOR EXPERIENCE POINTS!
    3. Climb walls. Note: the walls are a DC20 climb check and require 2 checks to get up and another 2 to get down. Even with a magic climb speed, a PC still needs a +2 climb bonus before the +8 bonus for a climb speed is added to get an automatic success. This is a solid option for escaping the necropolis if needed. A wand of monkey fish is one of the cheapest ways to give a climb or swim speed to party members. WOULDN'T HURT TO PREPARE FOR THIS OPTION - WAND WITH PARTIAL CHARGES (CHEAPER)- AS A EMERGENCY ESCAPE PLAN TO GET OUT, NOT IN
    4. Find a different route FINDERS - Keepers or Weepers? LoL Corny but couldn't resist the bad pun! 😀

    Ooc

I'm not complaining, just a question.

It looks like the Cloaks of Resistance, valued at 1000 GP each and which could be sold for 500 GP, were assigned a value more than sales price to Anhotep and Raze.

Did you charge Raisin for a Spider Climb potion she used in the Fake Fight?

  2. Sister Elektra. Healer & Elementalist

    spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=18, Touch=12, FF=16 / HP=15/15 / Init=2 / Saves: Fort=4, Reflex=2, Will = 6 _________________________________________________________________________

Swift.  Painful.  No Quarter, Sister Elektra repeated in her mind.  After all, it's a blood oath, so what else could there be for any and all who participated or are responsible for any such attack on one's clan, the Dwarven holy woman mentally mused associating the transgression to her own experiences.

Regardless of the emotions at play, Elektra's ears perk up at the mention by the Lord of a wealthy house that he is in need of help to satisfy such a blood oath, for the injuries wrought to his manhood and the assault upon his wife and upon his noble House.

Sounds very expensive, the Priestess of Elements rolls around inside of her head given the obvious live or die dangers involved in any such pursuit. Plus, the fact that all of McClare's power and existence essentially rely upon success in these endeavors, Well, even more expensive.

Nonetheless, when her brilliant, good friend, Sarai, advises that the safety of the Lady of the House is paramount, Sister Elektra sincerely smiles and nods her head in the affirmative at the wisdom of her advice.

However, when Varron details the problems associated with approaching the Lady of the House and the fact that the group will get, at best, one chance to convince her, the minister offers time proven words of wisdom saying, "Words are most convincing when combined with proof of their truth."

Finally, when the Lord Doallyn McClare asks if any members of our contingent, including Varron, are willing to assist their House in this endeavor, Sister Elektra choose to remain silent on the matter until others in the entourage have spoken their feelings about the request.

  3. Maybe we could enter from the south. This would allow our stealth folks to have a wide field of view into the ruins and around the sides as well.

If the stealth group splits, one could take the position behind the rock and cover the left side, plus see into the ruins and provide cover fire if needed.

The other member could sneak upstream to a position that would allow them to cover the right side of the ruins, plus also be able shoot arrows into the ruins as well.

While his kinsman Hjarlof Hornblower regales the group with an amusing tale one night, Ulfgrim Ironhide sits and slowly sharpens each edge of all of his bladed weapons using a whetstone which is so well-worn that it evidences the man's obsession with keeping his blades in razor-sharp condition.

    "Shring..........................................Shring............................................Shring.....................................Shring!"

However, when it's revealed in the story that the fisherman's wife was actually a manatee, the huge barbarian grins ear-to-ear and emits a loud laugh, "Haaruumph," as the warrior from the North openly displays his amusement at the ending of the Skold's story!

Here is Raze's prior request for certain items out of the treasure trove that I thought might help us on our missions or to stay alive.

    Prior Post

    Posted April 11 (edited)

I just reviewed our treasure list.

I would like to get permission for Raisin to wear one of our four Cloaks of Resistance +1. Return to loot when not needed.  NOW WORN

Also, if there are no objections, I would also like to claim the Handy Haversack so she can carry more stuff to help us, and to haul away treasure for us to divide. (Right now she is at max weight without being encumbered).

    _________________________________________________________

Finally, since we are going into a major battle, I think we should arm-up.

I would like Raisin to carry some or all of these items for party use to survive what's coming. If not used, then they will be returned to the treasure list to be claimed or sold. Use in combat or return to loot and sell

    Oil of Hold Portal
    Potion of Sanctuary
    3 Alchemist Fire
    3 Antitoxins
    4 vials of holy water
    3 Cure Light Wounds Potions

    ________________________________________________________

She will also need to replace 1 Spider Climb potions, 2 Hide from Undead potions, 1 Bull's Strength potion from the Temple stores, where she acquired them in the first place and which were used in the rescue of their cleric, and a Cat's Grace Potion if possible.

A potion to Remove Paralysis might be useful if Anhotep can sweet talk the clergy into helping out!

    ________________________________________________________

Note, I selected items thinking, what can I do in emergencies, or if PCs go down, are poisoned or even paralyzed since Raisin has no magic options.

    IS THIS OKAY?

The item request is still her suggestion for the coming combat, including the items to request from the Temple, such as Cat's Grace and Remove Paralysis Potions, etc.

Basically, the idea is for Raisin to have options to help others in combat situations if they are hurt, held or go down. Since she can't cast spells and has no skill at using most magic items, Raze would become the group's "Potion-esta" giving us essential options in times of crisis.

    Ooc

    Thanks! 😀

    Got it! LoL

I was looking for something akin to this.

I appreciate the help. On the run this morning and trying to catch up!

  5. Sounds like a plan, assuming both PCs in the stealth role have the ability to make readied ranged attacks within the range of their hiding distance at a moment's notice should things go awry.

If not, then a PC without long ranged attacks should be in the closer formation, or so stealthy they can hide within melee range.

    Ooc

Here is all I see on loot link. I've scrolled up and down and checked all the cells.

    2/6/24 225   sacks of spices
    4/5/24 3400

    Ooc

    Lmao

    Yup, just what I said.

    I have loot link thread.

    I clicked it.

It brings up Google spread sheet.

I'm looking for the actual list of items.

I requested that, if possible, the actual list of items link be placed in the loot thread so it's easier to find in the future.

    Ooc

Once again, I can't find the list of loot we recovered.

Perhaps it would be possible to put that link up in the Loot Thread, in addition to the spreadsheet.

That would be great and very helpful for quck easy access

Raze whispers to Anhotep, "We should also resupply from the Temple the items we had to expend rescuing the priest and playing war just now."

"The church supplied the items before, so I'm hoping that they will replace the used Cure Moderate Wounds potion, a couple of Hide from Undead elixirs, Bull's Strength and a pair of Spider Climb Potions," she adds.

  7. Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

    spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=18, Touch=12, FF=18 / HP= 8/13 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=6, Reflex=2, Will = 7  ________________________________________________________________________

Wilwick frowns when even more zombies appear on the scene as the diminutive holy man knows full well that he only empowered to destroy undead with his turning powers one more time until sunrise tomorrow.

Nonetheless, the hoard was a clear threat to the entire party and their mission, plus the foul undead were assembled in a line making the use of the divine power logical and reasonable under the circumstances.

Whispering to his colleagues, "This will be the last time I can destroy undead until sunrise, but I'm going to unleash the holy power now if no one speaks up the contrary."

Assuming no one in the group attempts to stop him, then Father Bramblemane again proclaims, "In the name of all that is holy, I release thee unto the light," causing additional flames to erupt from the bodies of the zombies as the creatures continue to self-combust when they are again bombarded with the second wave of divine energy.

After channeling the raw power of the gods through his tiny body, Wilwick slightly shudders before he slowly regains his composure and draws his sling and a tiny river stone from a hidden pocket inside of his cloak as the small Priest prepares to join into the fray with his mundane skills from the second rank of the formation.

    Destroy Undead

VARIANT TURNING RULES:  DESTRUCTION OF THE UNDEAD  (Complete Divine p. 87)

Instead of making undead run and cower, expending one of the cleric's daily turn attempts will deal positive energy damage to all undead within 30 feet of the cleric.

Turning undead is a standard action that deals 1d6 damage/cleric level to all undead within 30' of the cleric .  The affected undead get a Will save (DC 10 + cleric level + Charisma modifier) for half-damage.

Undead with turn resistance may subtract that number from the damage that they take from each turn attempt.  For example, a vampire with turn resistance 4 takes 4 fewer hit points of damage each time he takes turning damage.

When using this ability against incorporeal creatures, you do not have to roll a 50% miss chance; turning hits automatically.

  8. There was no post for Gwen last round.

We called for her to take the front line and switch places with Wilwick.

WIlwick's movement away from the front line is contingent on Gwen's movement to replace Wilwick.

Was this move made by Gwen and the map has not been updated?

If not, then Wilwick is still in the frontline of the battle at the start of the current turn instead of Gwen.

  9. Sister Elektra. Healer & Elementalist

    spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=18, Touch=12, FF=16 / HP=15/15 / Init=2 / Saves: Fort=4, Reflex=2, Will = 6 _________________________________________________________________________

Sister Elektra momentarily winces when the holy woman perceives the extent of the dark shadow that is presently overhanging everyone and every aspect of House McClare.

It's painfully obvious to the Elementalist that alarm, fear and worry rule the day here affecting all from the lowest servant to the highest noble lord of the manor in one manner or another.

Furthermore, both Lord McClaren and Lady Enhasa are clearly injured even though they were likely treated by some of the best healers in the City, which bears evidence to the original extent of their horrific injuries.

Their respective injuries indicate that these nobles were not only injured but also chastised as evidenced by the nature, location and severity of the wounds which indicates extremely evil, powerful foes are likely responsible.

To the experienced healer, it appears that an effort was made to take or destroy Lord McClaren's manhood featuring injuries clearly designed to terrorize as the victim bleeds out over time.  The fact that he can even walk is a testament to the healers here as well as Lord McClaren's own pain tolerance, the Dwarven Priestess thinks to herself.

On the other hand, the fact that Lady Enhasa was still alive was close to a miracle.  Her injury was the opposite of her husband, featuring a savage bite inflicted by a creature with four large fangs which were sunk deep into the soft flesh of her throat in a death grip common to large predators that is designed to crush the windpipe and result in a horrific bloody choking and painful death.

However, Sister Elektra also realized that these wounds were far beyond her healing abilities and likely were treated by some of the most powerful clerics and healers in the entire region just given the fact that both intended victims were still among the living and that there was little that she could do to help other than offer prayers up for them later today.

Nonetheless, all of these shocking observations and distracting thoughts were timely interrupted by the input of Shade, who had some notable observations of his own, including the bread and salt others seem to be partaking of in common ceremony.

When Doallyn reveals that the missing Myrddin from their house has received 'sendings' indicating that "The Eye is the Gate," Sister Elektra mulls the meaning of the phrase over and over in her mind as she attempts to discern its meaning.

Sister Elektra gauges the reaction of those in the room when Sarai speaks forwardly about the Evening Glory and unfolding events in the household, partaking of the salt and bread when such is appropriate and proper given local customs.

Raze continues to frown and scowl even though the fake battle had ended somewhat successfully, however certain 'deficiencies' in personnel, strategy, equipment and even raw emotions had been revealed before, during and after the tedious event which the burglar did not expect.

Truth be told, 'pretend killing' was not high on the Raisin's list of things to do, nor was it the Tiefling's style to say much about the foolishness of the matter. Her lack of enthusiasm made that clear. Nonetheless, the so-called dress rehearsal was over, and it was nearly time for opening night which suited the rogue just fine!

However, no sooner was the fool's skirmish over than a verbal battle broke out primarily between Madame Zelda and the cocky Priest named Rakt who's plan is to release a massive hoard of indiscriminate killer beasts upon the city, which titter-tat was non-productive to say the least.

Seeing no purpose in adding fuel to a fool's fire, Raze choses to keep her mouth shut; however, if needed then her razor-sharp blades would open a second broad smile under certain folks' chins should it become necessary or desired!
