Ultimate fan-girl.  Persistent stalker.  Self-styled investigative journalist.

Vijelica is all of these, and more.  As the proud editor, reporter, publisher, and proprietor of the Silver City Oracle, a tiny upstart tabloid that specializes in celebrity news and gossip, she is naturally concerned by the missing celebrities and the closure of the Kintargo Opera House. Maybe it’s time to throw some ink at Barzillai Thrune instead.

Shensen’s disappearance is the most alarming, of course—after all, Vijelica is her number one fan.  How can she not be, when Vi’s first ever vision was of the half-elven opera star?  The oracle left her home in Whiterock for the bard—can any other admirer claim such devotion?  Though she has followed and written about many other celebrities since arriving in Kintargo, Shensen holds a special place in her heart.  You never forget your first.

But you might repress your second.

Some months after her first vision, Vijelica and her older brother Valerius were accosted by a thug demanding gold.  She saw the hidden blade—she saw the future—but froze, overwhelmed and paralyzed, unable to warn Valerius.  The next day her distraught mother insisted that her remaining child wear armor everywhen and everywhere.  Her father, though no less concerned, was less stringent and more stoic, but in a kind, somber manner that supported his daughter’s freedom.  After a month, Vijelica never spoke of her brother again, either ignoring or changing the subject if ever it arose.

She’s much better now, though she often has an oblivious air, as if lost in the mists between vision and reality, mixing ordinary and extraordinary with nonchalant ease.  There’s also a peculiar, almost paradoxical, determination that is neither aggressive nor overt, but rather quietly undeniable: her tabloid is deadly important, and it will succeed, Thrune or no Thrune.

@Naimless

The character sheet is essentially complete--I'm leaving some wiggle room with gear and the bonus feat to complement the rest of the party. And fluff can always be expanded, but most of the meat is there, so I think this is ready for a first review. Thanks for taking the time to read it and offer feedback!

Just fleshing Vijelica out some more ...

Background:  The younger child of a scribe and a miner in Whiterock, Vijelica considered herself a nobody, especially in comparison with her gracefully athletic brother Valerius.  Her clumsy youth was quiet and ordinary, focused on writing lessons from her father and tagging along behind her older brother like, well, an admiring younger sibling.

Gaining the Sight was strange, but oddly comforting, as if this was how she was meant to see the world.  Her protective mother was worried, as always, but her father, whose great-aunt was a Varisian fortune teller, understood and embraced her new abilities, as did her ever supportive brother.

Though the young oracle felt empowered and liberated, she didn’t know how to best use her newfound powers.  Her first visions, always of Shensen, consisted of mundane details, like what the opera star wore to the gala, or what she had for lunch, and how she ate it, and who else was there, and how she drank her mint tea with a defiant pinky up.

It was her brother who urged her to find Shensen in Kintargo, and to publish her knowledge for the benefit of others.  His untimely death spurred her into action, and her resolve to honor him has only increased over the years.  She now views her tiny tabloid as a vital mission, and her celebrity reporting as important work to help the people.

Personality:  Charming klutz.  Serenely oblivious.  Calmly and quietly determined.  Well-read and well-spoken, like her father.  Unassuming but dedicated.

Utterly certain of her mission, she is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to gather information about Kintargan celebrities.

Sometimes she gets overwhelmed, particularly in times of danger or a surfeit of options, and just shuts down.  She instinctively dodges out of immediate danger, but given a couple seconds to consider her actions, she just freezes, seeing and knowing, but unable to act, like in one of her visions.

Description:  Wavy, shoulder-length honey blonde hair. Light green eyes. Fair complexion.  Slender build.  Sweet, mysterious smile.  Wears armor beneath a simple, dull brown cloak.

Vijelica drifts rather than walks, a purposeful meander that sidesteps catastrophe while inviting accident—one fortuitous step evades a runaway carriage, while a clumsy bump turns a priceless vase into worthless shards.  Her voice is like ethereal crystal shrouded in fog, and her words are spoken with the singsong passion of someone reading a census.  Her dreamy gaze either penetrates the unspoken truths of your soul, or stares blankly beyond you—or both.  She is there, and not there.  She is paradox personified.

Role:  Not surprisingly, Vi will specialize in knowing things.  I’m hoping she’ll be a useful PC for the GM—whenever you want to share some information or background, especially fun/juicy bits that might be hard to relate, just tell me to make a knowledge check with Focused Trance.  On the other hand, please don’t worry about her knowing things that shouldn’t be known (e.g. break the plot/game)—if I ever ask about something too revealing, just request that I inquire about something else instead.

Outside of knowledge, Vi is definitely a support character.  This may change at higher levels because … well, she’s a full caster … but she’s got a lot of time to grow until then.
