Overlap in Mechanics and Lore, and overlap in character histories

I could manage a team up.. as long as a you don't mind being involved with someone running from the 7th Legion for stealing a super valuable artefact from them. I'm probably going to build it in the 4 or 5 dot realm, to give a sense of the scope of it. Having a Dawn that 10+ charms deep into combat investment handy would be pretty handy for a refugee group like that. I didn't get to doing the writing I was hoping to today, but I should be able to tomorrow. Got about 4 hours of sitting around on a ferry going back and forth to the mainland for work to do it in.

I think I can provide you a safe haven in my demesne, we are heading to a wonderland. I can't wait to read your backstory 🙂 And no problem with the 7th Legion, we ran from one dynast we'll run from them all. Or we will give them hell.

So I think a connection would be cool; Red Monkey has the resources to buy a ship, but he's not a sailor at all.  Maybe he bought a ship to get out of the Realm (he had chosen Great Forks as a destination specifically because it's tolerant of Anathema and far from the Realm).  And when he went to crew his ship he found a bunch of refugees that would work for cheap, and maybe a captain if someone is taking a bit of Sailing.  (connecting someone else if they want)

We had a nice journey upriver and when we got to Great Forks he sold the ship, so here we are!

🙂

No sailing, just a lot of mistakes rowing east and being guided by a Tidemare who can keep us on course. We were craftmen so we built the ship, an oarship. We built a ship in Noble in the Realm during our escape. It is held together with luck and grit. There is magic on hand though. If you like, he could save his money and leave the realm on our ship we built. We were heading east so the Tidemare helped us get to Lookshy, then past Nexus, and past great forks to Andorions Demesne. Andorion preaches about the promised land every day. If you joined at the realm, you know that Andorion is an exalt by his glowing full circle on his forehead when he scared off a demon.

I dunno.. I kind of like the sound of Shogun Halcyon Beacon.. So maybe not running away for too long.

That's fine. We will have met each other which is the important thing. What is Shogun Halcyon Beacon?

Oh, the relevance is that Lookshy is run by the 7th legion, which is a hold over from the late First Age's Shogunate, and just before it fell the last instructions they were given was to hold their position, operate independently and not accept any other authority as greater then their own other then a returned shogun.

Beacon, being an educated person from Lookshy would know that part of history.. and might just be nuts enough after realizing what he is to try and claim the title.

On a side note.. the craft rules suck. There are SO MANY types of craft you need to get, just to work on artifacts.

Andorion is from the Realm so he wouldn't know, but he is a good listener.

A homemade ship full of refugees is even harder to trace than chartering with a shady captain, so I can see Red Monkey going that route.

Becoming Shogun actually might not take a lot of fighting, just convincing...

Fantastic, would you also be interested in building a kingdom that rivals the realm?

I'd be down.

Fantastic. Then let's work out when we met. We could have met in the realm or great forks when the ship docked for food. I am going over the story of you and Cathak now. We can come up with something. My Bio is on Andorion's first page.

@JadesI have come up with a possible idea. The First Bloom is contacted by a merchant family to provide protection for a group of refugees, one of which is its non Dynast scion. When Thorn and Cathak arrive at the location given, they see a large oared ship with several hundred people listening to a man talking about his Demesne being close. When you and Cathak talk to him he is open about a desire to create a kingdom, one that will rival the Realm in size. Instead of slaves there will me magic golems working the fields. There will be fairness. Does that sound Ok? I have an influence with a trading family who want to help us.

It bears mentioning, Great Forks isn't so much tolerant of Anathema as it is intolerant of the Immaculates. They do have quite a few exigents and godblooded that a solar could pretend to be, but you probably don't want anyone to find that out.

That depends on the Storyteller, this is the white wolf wiki, https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Great_Forks

Solar, Lunar, and Abyssal Exalted who come to Great Forks will be escorted directly to the Palace of the Three for an interview with the gods.[13] Assuming they have no hostile intent (and, in the case of Abyssals, consent to be bound by oaths to ensure no duplicity) they are then free to explore the city. The Three regard the Celestial Exalted as potential assets and allies, provided their goals line up with the welfare of the city

That was a quote from the wiki.
