Legend

Prince Criamnon was an extremely popular member of his family. Eldest son of the king, beloved by the people, and the subject of many proposed matrimonial treaties; a mighty warrior, and a renowned lover. He was a living legend in his own right, his myth only slightly less than the many demigods which stand impossible to contend with. He didn't have a black mark to his name; not one that mattered, anyway. Eventually, the king selected the perfect arranged marriage for him, a treaty that would strengthen his land and bring peace to his people, end the wars as it were. It was not to be.

The day of the wedding, a nameless woman burst through the doors with claims of infidelity which went against his sacred vows; she claimed that her unborn child was fathered by the prince, much to his confusion and horror. He contested this, of course; who would believe a mere vagabond over the beloved prince... until she cast off her mortal form and revealed herself as Pele, The Conflagration. At her feet lay the wailing babe Boagrius, and in front of everyone she proclaimed him the next in line for the throne before vanishing in a fiery explosion. The wedding did not happen. The truce failed, the fighting began anew, and the prince's pristine reputation was forever charred by the damning sentence of a goddess.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Boagrius wasn't wanted by his family. Although there was no way to take out his frustrations on a literal goddess, the babe in front of him was very real, very physical, and very needy. He left it out in the woods without a backwards glance, and promptly forgot all about the baby that evidenced his darkest hour.

Boagrius didn't die that day as intended. Whisked away into the care of Durga, an old friend of Pele, Boagrius spent his first twelve years among a pride of lions that raised him, protected him, fed him and hunted with him, whether animal or man he didn't know nor care. He was as uncivilised as possible when restlessness prompted him out of Durga's care with a profound desire for adventure, for glory, for more. He was found at the edge of the woods by a peasant family, who took this dirty, wild boy in and raised him as their own. They taught him language, they taught him his numbers, they taught him about people and music and dancing, pottery and woodcraft, archery and sport. They loved him like he was their own; but Boagrius was divine, the demigod son of the Goddess of Eruptions herself, and he was ill-suited to a quiet life.

Full of pent up energy, Boagrius was quick to anger and lash out. He was a sore loser, and the youth of his village quickly stopped playing their games with him; he was immensely strong, and often won physical contests, and those he didn't win inevitably kindled his violent tendencies. One frustrating morning proved too much for the teenager, who in a fit of rage accidentally killed his lyre instructor and several other members of his class, and was promptly banished from the city.

As he continued to grow, Boagrius joined a nearby militia; he found the training exercises quenched his restlessness, and it was soothing to be around like-minded people who could take as well as they got. This changed when he emerged... not unscathed, but alive and kicking from a bandit raid that took out his group, but died in the attempt. All fifty of them. And their horses. Witnesses claimed that his eyes burned with divine fire as he stalked out of the burning bandit camp. Word of his legend grew, and before long he was given the honour of being presented to his king, King Criamnon. Maybe it was the stunning resemblance; maybe it was Pele herself whispering in their ears; maybe it was luck, but both of them instantly knew of their relation the moment they locked eyes. The next hour was a bloody one, resulting in Boagrius fleeing the country and taking the lives of thirty of the King's best guards in the process.

Now he roams. His name is known far and wide, for good or for ill; he slayed the Cleonaen Panther, a giant displacer beast set loose by an angry god, and is the fasted mountain sledder this side of the river sumyr. He has the means to put food in his belly, so he lives for himself. He is the son of a king, and more than that, a goddess; he has a name, and he'll make damn sure that it's remembered long after his own death. Screw honour.. For Glory!

Mechanics: Post 1

Background: Post 2; Raised by lions, run out of city, defeated entire bandit camp by himself, met the king, run out of country, subsequent years of adventure

Description: Physical Description: A large, muscular man standing 6 ft. 9, broad shouldered and thickly padded. His dark matted hair, once pulled into dreadlocks, tumbles down to the small of his back, held in place by an engraved leather headband. A short but thick beard frames his face, lending him a wild look. Due to his vulnerable fighting style, he doesn't bother with a shirt beneath his armour, presenting bare skin to the warm air. Modeled after Tyler Mane's Ajax from the movie Troy.

Hooks: Exiled from home by father/king; raised by Durga's lions; some undefined relationship with Pele; probably made many enemies during my travels, either from my competitiveness or quick temper.

Gear: Post 1 & 4

Intro: A wandering hero seeking glory, fighting for his name to be remembered. Would probably be quite susceptible to the tried and tested greek 'hey kid, I hear you like to prove yourself'

Idle thoughts: I've given him ranks in craft (blacksmithing) as he's always been attracted to melting smelting metal for the sake of it, and later as a way to connect with Pele. It makes sense that he'd have learned a thing or two about handling the metal as he goes, although if you think something like craft (metallurgy) makes more sense, I can happy swap to that.
