Let me know if that all looks right. I kinda combined both template posts and added a little more. I do have a few questions being new to OSE -- how barebones are we running the system? I saw @Vedast added a specialization and some to hit bonuses to his attack rolls that I'm a bit confused on where those values are coming from. I know they're optional rules but wanted to know what all do I need to read up on?

I checked with GM earlier in the character selection thread about weapon proficiency and weapon specialization. See Monday, 1JAN posts.

In a nutshell, our martial characters would have four weapon proficiencies, but could combine two of them into a single specialization: this gives +1 ATK and +1 DAM.

I have the separate CF/AF individual books, not the Players/Referee tomes. But from p. 53 of the AF-Characters book:

Weapon Specialisation
Martial characters may optionally be
allowed to specialise in a single, specific
type of weapon. This requires dedicating
two weapon proficiency “slots” to a single
weapon type. For example, a 1st level
martial character is normally proficient
with 4 weapons. If the player chooses to
specialise in a weapon, the character is
only proficient with 3 weapons (the specialised
weapon plus two others).
When attacking with a specialised weapon,
the character gains a +1 bonus to
attack and damage rolls.

PS The penalty for use of a non-proficient weapon is:

A character using a weapon that they are
not proficient with incurs a penalty to
attack rolls. Martial characters suffer a
–2 penalty, semi-martial characters a –3
penalty, and non-martial characters a –5
penalty.
