T'vesh Szatt

T'vesh has always been a wandering soul. Never really revealing to anyone where he comes from, other than to tell people that he is from the sea.
He has always been more at home out on the water, or more specifically, in the water. His first ship, The Blue Wren, was also his first love. He begged the captain to allow him aboard, doing unwanted jobs to secure his passage. Eventually T'vesh earned his place. He feels he owes the Blue Wren and her crew for giving him this chance, and works feverishly to get the best deals he can for whatever goods they take to port. Over time, his affinity for water helped him to garner the trust of the entire crew as well. The ship he was on was primarily used to transport, the merchandise arriving on time was key to payment. Rushing through a storm, one of his crewmates was thrown from the masts and into the sea. T'vesh jumped in straight away, snatching his crewmate from drowning.
As time has gone on, T'vesh has also taken the role of ship liason. Generally a silver-tongued speaker, he uses this to buy and sell at the trade ports that the blue wren stops into. When at sea, he fills a few roles. Using his sorcery to help the men get more work done, or to defend the ship against the pirates that have begun to appear more and more frequently in the waters along the coasts.

As time has gone on, T'vesh has fallen upon tough times as most have. Where once he dealt in legal merchandise, now he often used black market channels to sell pirated goods, acting as a fence and sometimes a smuggler. He has not yet resorted to outright piracy himself, but if coin doesnt begin to flow... he may need to do what needs done. The Blue Wren has stopped for a time in Waterdeep, surely a city with more gold than it needed, if ever there was a port that could turn the bad luck around... It was here.

T'vesh helps to dock the Wren, and then makes his way to the nearest bar. Looking for leads on work, food and drink, or maybe even a game of cards to take his mind off of his waning coin.

Still looking to add a bit more to the backstory. He's been kind of adopted from a previous sea game. I liked the idea of a dragonborn that was more adept at water than sky. Swimming vs fly speed.

As for his concept, He's been a fence and smuggler for other captains and ships. Sometimes pirates have to find ways to sell the goods they plunder... It's not always coin. He's also been a smuggler, freelance and only sometimes. Acting as artillery in ship to ship fighting, and not afraid to get into the water to save his fellows or to board another ship. Each level of spells he has, he focuses on a "storm" damaging spell, thunder/lightning. And also a buff spell, haste and Featherfall/spiderclimb for the rigging climbers... and himself, getting higher up for better range/vision. To that end, he will take observant as opposed to brawler.

Future levels.

6. Elemental affinity - lightning and learning 2nd level spell Enhance Ability

7. 4th level spell Storm Sphere

8. ASI Either Warcaster, SpellSniper, or +1int +1wis, whichever makes the most sense at the time. 4th level spell Dimension door

While I am thinking about it. Is it possible to "adapt" the cloak of the manta ray? Rather than have it turn me into a manta, instead just "fluff" to make him more serpentine in the water. Swimming like a crocodile, more streamlined instead of manta wings.

Amulet would work, Cloak can still work as well. It doesnt matter where I would wear it. I just like the idea of it being slightly different than what others use, and serpentine would fit him.
