Admittingly, all this science talk was going over Martins head somewhat. As interested as he was in finding out more about the rock and its tie to Mr. Broder, he failed to see the connection or how this experiment would show anything worth while. Regardless, he kept his tongue to himself and paid attention to what happened. It was intriguing on its own right, even the slight inflation of his ego that he haphazardly correctly guessed a possible cause for the glow.
Just as they were ready to begin, Bart seemed to have an episode of mania. That is, what Martin thought till he noticed the effect that seemed to be happening within the chamber. His mouth opened to ask what was happening to be beaten by Malcolm. Instead, his attention was drawn to Thompsons reaction there near the end. Maybe the chamber was reacting to something else in the room? Something that was causing the glow on the sample and the chamber at the same time?
Martin scanned the room for something that looked out of place, or was reacting the same. Something in one these many jars and containers could be the cause.
