Barrigan

Flaming DwarfIgni watched with trepidation as Brody's spell pulled the curtain aside and Shizuka stealthily peeked around the corner. He listened silently to her warning before replying in a whisper. "A beholder is it? Seems I may have been overthinking things, yes," he acknowledged her earlier criticism. It wasn't good to be too credulous and accept things at face value but sometimes a clue to what lay ahead was exactly what it seemed to be. "In that case, if the answers to the sign are literal then our choice is between fighting one beholder or multiple thieves."

He considered the problem before them. Against the beholder they had the advantage of numbers whereas against the thieves it may be five on five or they may even be outnumbered but each individual enemy would likely be weaker than the beholder. On the other hand, in tight corridors like these their ability to bring their numbers to bear would be limited by the terrain, so their advantage against the beholder may not be as great as expected. Looking around at the group it seemed that Shizuka was a pure swordswoman and Igni himself had almost no methods of ranged attack. Mezzina and Brody both carried longbows though and he couldn't tell what manner of attack Snow would employ. Had he actually mentioned he could breathe fire earlier? If they couldn't get all of their close quarters fighters into range their effectiveness would be limited.

The pondering dwarf realised he was again doing exactly what Shizuka had warned against: overthinking. As the only one who had actually seen the enemy they would be up against, Igni was inclined to agree with her assessment. "Aye, I'll take cracking the heads of a few thieves over dodging eye beams any day of the week. Let's take the other path and press on." He murmured.

Shizuka was looking a bit the worse for wear after her fall and Igni thought it was better to do something about that before the ended up in a fight. He muttered a few words to call on Tharmekhul's aid and laid a gauntleted hand on her arm, a warmth like the embers of a forge passing into her body and slowly closing her wounds.
