Background:

XYZ-QWERT-ABC-MNBVC is a biological machine, just one among millions of similar machines, whose only purpose is to maintain the world it was tasked to protect and care. For many centuries, these machines are the only intelligent beings living in their homeworld.

In the distant past, when the cosmos was still young and teeming with the wonders of creation, there existed a race of beings whose intelligence far surpassed any other known species. These beings, whose name has long been lost to the annals of time, had achieved a level of mastery over science and technology that bordered on the divine.

Driven by a catastrophic disaster, this ancient race embarked on a grand experiment: to engineer a series of biological machines capable of maintaining the delicate balance of life and nature in their homeworld. These machines were not mere automatons; they possessed a level of sophistication and complexity that rivaled and surpassed the most advanced forms of organic life.

Among these creations was a being unlike any other—a biological machine known simply as "Epsilon". The first exemplar of its race. Epsilon was designed with a singular purpose: to serve as the custodian of the world, tirelessly working to ensure its continued existence and prosperity. Endowed with intelligence, adaptability, and a vast array of tools and abilities, Epsilon was the epitome of its creators' ingenuity.

XYZ-QWERT-ABC-MNBVC carries Epsilon's desire into the future, tirelessly continuing its divine task, to ensure its homeworld continued existence and prosperity against all forms of calamities and enemies.

Translated techniques

Nanite cloud: Cost 3. Gives the user 1 stack of Overheat.

  • Emergency repairs: Heals a target by 1d10. If the result is 9 or higher, the user loses 1 stack of Overheat.
  • Harmful Decomposition: Deals 1d10 damage to a target. If the result is 9 or higher, the user loses 1 stack of Overheat.

Force field: Cost 5. Applies 1d4 stacks of Shield to the target.

  • Shield wall: Applies an extra 2 stacks of Shield to the target.
  • Force cage: The target is immobilized whilst they have any stacks of Shield. (Immobilized entities can only use techniques that do not require movement or techniques that can break through immobilization.)

Reconfiguration: Cost 0. Makes the user lose all stacks of Overheat. The user will not take Overheat damage from using this technique

  • Form switch A: Switches the user's stamina and speed stats. If they had more energy than their current stamina, their energy is set to their current stamina. The user gains 1 stack of Charge

Relevant status effects

Shield: All damage the afflicted takes from techniques is reduced by their stacks of shield. Every turn, the afflicted loses 1 stack of shield.

Overheat: When the afflicted uses a technique, they take damage equal to their stacks of overheat subtracted by the technique's cost. When the afflicted ends a turn without gaining stacks of overheat, they lose 2 stacks of overheat.

Charge: When the afflicted would roll a dice, they instead automatically get the highest possible result and lose 1 stack of charge.

Translated techniques

Nanite cloud: Cost 3. Deals Nd2 damage to the user, where N is the amount of times this move has been used in the current battle thus far.

  • Emergency repairs: Heals a target by 1d8.
  • Harmful Decomposition: Deals 1d8 damage to a target.

Reconfiguration: Cost 2. No universal effects

  • Form switch A: Switches the user's stamina and speed stats. If they had more energy than their current stamina, their energy is set to their current stamina.

Relevant status effects

Shield: All damage the afflicted takes from techniques is reduced by their stacks of shield. Every turn, the afflicted loses 1 stack of shield.

Instead of receiving damage for Nanite Cloud, it would be better reducing the effectiveness of the ability. Is it possible to change for that?

Specially because you cannot guarantee the outcome, and at later stages it does more damage to the caster than actual healing or damage. Basically restricting to one use per battle.

Ok, I think it is fine, but I am not satisfied with the current abilities.

Some change is required to reconfiguration, specially because there is no basic attack.

So here are my proposals:

1) Reconfiguration: Cost 2, Deals 1d4 damage to a target, and choose one effect: +2 health, +2 speed or -2 Technique Exhaustion.

2) Reconfiguration: Cost 2, Deals 1d4 damage to a target, and choose one effect: +2 damage in the next attack, +2 speed or -2 Technique Exhaustion.

3) Reconfiguration: Cost 2, Deals 1d4 damage to a target, and get +1 speed and -1 Technique Exhaustion.

I can have it reduce technique exhaustion by 2 but that's the most i can do. My main justification for such is that i can see no logical way for reconfiguration to double as an attack

Not enough.

The problem is that without a basic attack the character needs an attack that can allow to generate an energy reserve, which it is not the case here. Reconfiguration does nothing as it was. And the main attack has a diminishing return, if it was used repetitively, the combination creates an unplayable character.

So it needs to fixed in my opinion. Not necessarily be a new attack, but add more.
