This will be a different process than most game applications.  Please just make a post in this thread with the following.  Remember this is a one-shot so I don't need novels, looking for people excited to play!  As we get closer to the game date, please roll out your characters in your post!  I do want to see a character sheet before the game this time!

WIP

Character Name: Jaydun Rutall

Background: Criminal

Class: Adventurer - Expert/Warrior

Description: Jaydun stands a bit under 6 feet tall and of average build. He has dark brown hair and deep green eyes. His hair is kept short, but always looks a bit mussed up. He has a short but full beard with a thin mustache. He almost always wears a dark brown leather, military style, jacket which has obvious places where patches or rank used to be but have been removed. He wears a black shirt under the coat which navy blue trousers and black military style boots and has a laser pistol hanging off his hip in a holster.

Personality: Despite his rough childhood and his stint in the military, Jaydun is still a fairly happy and pleasant guy. He is easy to get along with, but won’t take too much crap from anyone. He does not like to fight, but if pushed he is fairly capable and willing to risk his neck to help either friends or those who don’t seem able to help themselves. He does still have some larcenous tendencies and is willing to rob those who have more than they need. Normally he keeps it for himself, or finds a fence and keeps the proceeds. He is not above giving some of it to the less fortunate, but not a lot of it. He has dreams to one day be filthy rich, own his own ship and do as he pleases.

Short Backstory:

Jaydun grew up in poverty on the Planet Jerdain in the N-0201 Sector. It was a highly urbanized planet with many levels of city below what appeared to be the surface. Although it was a rich planet and had plenty for all, the upper level citizens prospered on a much higher level than the sub level ones. He grew up in sublevel 5 and they barely had enough to survive, so at a young age Jaydun learned how to acquire items that belonged to others. Like most of the people in the sublevels, they only targeted people from the surface or above. At age 17 Jayden was caught trying to steel food and other supplies and was given the choice of joining the military or going to the prison space station. He chose the military of course.

After eight years in the military he is finally out and free. His stint in the military helped to make a strong man out of him, but it never really did get all the larcenous tendencies out of him. He was always scheming and trying to make extra money on the side. Mostly with getting hard to acquire items for others. This got him into a bit of trouble from time to time and is why after eight years he was just a private first class when he got out. His highest rank reached was sergeant.

So there he was minding his own business and having a drink and trying to think what he would do now that he was free, when two armed goons showed up and arrested him, then drugged him and he now finds himself in front of a fat man behind a desk waiting to find out what the heck is going on.

Merra Perdito

Description: Merra is around 5'3 with a slim build. She has gray-brown eyes, and her hair is always hidden under a hood (it's shoulder-length brown). She wears the midnight-blue robes and slippers of an acolyte of the Chapel of Saint Eremin. Her last name, Perdito, means "lost" in one of the ancient languages of Earth, and is one of the default names assigned by law enforcement and social workers to orphaned ghetto kids when their family name is otherwise unknown.

Personality: Due to her early (lack of) upbringing in the slums, she tends to be sneaky and suspicious, almost paranoid. She doesn't trust anyone till they have proved trustworthy. Her training at the Chapel had mitigated a lot of it, but her recent experience on Hell has brought it back full force. She would rather not fight if she can possibly help it, but she's not beyond telekinetically dropping (sorta) heavy objects on someone's head if she has to.

Short Backstory: Merra was a street urchin living in the slums of Maiphus on the planet Soter, the 4th planet of the star Zeshan N57C. When, at the approximate age of 10, she started showing signs of MES, the local church took her in. It turned out the monks ran a hidden training center for psychics. Soter is a repressive theocracy. The people believe that psychics are possessed by demons. The madness and/or sudden death of MES is proof of that, and The Scream was God's vengeance against all who consort with demons. When Merra was around 25, The Inquisition found about the secret center, raided it, and condemned all the monks and student psychics to Hell. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your point of view, Hell is not a metaphor, it's the third planet of Zeshan, a hot desert world used by the Soterans as a prison planet. Merra found that her survival skills from the slum served her well on Hell, especially in keeping away from rape gangs. She has lived there for about 5 years so far.

Character Name: Product BB-XIII

Alias: Regnart Seht

Race: Human

Class: Warrior

SheetProduct BB-XIII :: Stars Without Number :: Myth-Weavers Online Character Sheets

HP: 9 | AC: 4

Languages: English

Description: The product's build is tall and lean. It is kept lithe and agile, perfect for quick, repetitive movements in the fields. With just enough base strength to perform labor, without making it too much of a threat should it go out of control again. To mark the product as a product, its eyes were genetically engineered to have the Sciera black and the iris white, giving it a distinctly inhuman appearance.

Psychological Evaluation: Product BB-XIII has been conditioned, reconditioned, and reconditioned again. On the surface it seems to have successfully returned to baseline behavior standard for any product of the series. It certainly behaves docile and obedient at all times. It is a product seemingly devoid of emotion. However, it should be noted that to maintain a level, calm, and collected state of mind, actually requires an incredible amount of emotional energy and will power.

The product can easily be described as stoic and deadpan. It tends to move at its own pace. When it can, it takes things in and carefully analyzes them before reacting to them. This is usually without a sense of social obligation to continue the flow of conversation. Though tactical urgency does seem to factor in. Facial expressions just don't register as a part of its processes. Quick to resort to force, it appears to be single minded in its determination to accomplish whatever tasks its owners assign to it.

However, though I know that my protests will go ignored, let it stand on record that in this humble researcher's opinion, Product BB-XIII is not fit to return to the work force. While it has been maintaining this obedient act for several years now, I still believe that it is just that. Merely an act. The product should be considered a danger to itself and anyone around it. Extreme caution should be used when dealing with it. I have recommended that the product be disposed of time and time again, but I know that pompous jackass of a director wants to tout this product up as proof that no product can truly undo his conditioning techniques but mark my words this product is not reformed in the slightest.

Backstory: Serial Number BB-XIII was just one product out of many, grown in an Atlas Corporation Production Plant. Originally designed and developed by the Magnus Collective, the series of products were genetically engineered to be ideal laborers. Early in its production cycle, this product was purchased by a corporate spy that was secretly working for the Iwani Zaibatsu. This Iwani agent procured an entire batch of products to reverse engineer the medical data coded into the product's genes. After extensive testing and a sufficient number of samples were collected, it was determined that surviving products would be repurposed to serve other interests.

The products had specifically trained and conditioned to be docile and obedient. The Iwani agent spent the next few years undoing this conditioning through rather extreme means. The agent purposefully incited the products to resent rebel.

This product in particular was then given the name, Regnart Seht. It used this alias to begin participating in the resistance movement, rescuing and recruiting other products to its cause while destroying Atlas Corp assets. To its credit, it managed to keep fighting for several years. However, the Atlas Corporation proved too great a foe. The rebellion failed, with most of the rebels killed or captured. Regnart Seht was one of the lucky ones, charged with various crimes against society and the corporation.

Seht was once again studied and experimented on, this time they wanted to know why the initial conditioning failed and if the product could be reconditioned into serving its original purpose of obedient servitude. Seht has been held in captivity for the past seven years, and no longer shows signs of instability. It's hard to believe that it was actively participating in the rebellion. It may be time to attempt to make use of it further.

Veteran's Luck: Once during each combat the warrior can completely negate a successful attack roll against him or her. The warrior may choose to wait until after damage is rolled to use this ability. This ability does not function against environmental hazards or other non-combat dangers, and it does not apply to hits against a vehicle the warrior is piloting or riding.

Martial Arts

Martial arts style skills are treated as Combat/Unarmed for all other purposes and can be used whenever Combat/Unarmed might normally be checked. Skill levels add directly to both hit rolls and damage, and a character with at least level 2 in a martial art can inflict bare-handed or weapon damage with that style even on targets that would otherwise be immune to low-tech attacks.

Dirty Fighting: This “style” is acquired in dive bars, dirty colonial streets, and military training courses. The details vary from world to world, but every manifestation tends to focus on low blows, cheap shots, and the ugly little tricks that give a combatant victory before his enemy realizes that he’s in danger.

Weapon Groups: Unarmed, knives, improvised weapons.

Level 0 Novice: The brawler knows how to throw a punch: base unarmed damage is 1d8.

Level 1 Intermediate: The brawler is an old hand at using furniture, drinks, trash, and other detritus to impede an enemy. Enemies suffer a -2 to hit the brawler when in melee range, provided there’s something the brawler can grab to throw at them, tip over, or get in their way.
